Fantastic stay at Hvedholm castle - from food, service, rooms and surroundings... definitely worth a visit. Staff were incredibly nice and happy to tell about the history of the castle... Will definitely come again..

Exciting and beautiful castle. Great food and friendly service. Cold in the bathroom without heating and the TV defective. But nice and peaceful area. Many fine halls and beautiful interiors.

Great stay and super dinner We had been given a stay with a 3-course menu and breakfast at a castle of our choice as a silver wedding present from our children. The choice fell on Hvedholm Castle because we could then visit our daughter on the same occasion. We were contacted several times by the castle staff in the days leading up to our arrival, which was a Tuesday - because they wanted to inform us that we would be the only guests in the castle for the day. We did not consider this to be a problem at all, as our purpose was total disconnection and relaxation. We were met by a nice young man at the reception (his name must have been Thomas) who showed us a room in the main building. It was a neat and tidy room, and we felt almost completely royal, walking around the beautiful rooms in the castle all alone. We were served coffee/tea and sweets in one of the rooms by the restaurant. It was a really delicious cake! Then some relaxation in the room before dinner awaited at 18:00, as agreed with Thomas. An out-of-the-ordinary experience awaited here. Our very own chef for the evening (unfortunately did not get his name), served up one culinary experience after another. We had the most intense and flavorful onion soup for starters, we could easily have eaten our fill in that alone, yum it was delicious. Then the young rooster is fried pink and incredibly juicy. The side dish was syrup-marinated carrots, celeriac puree, fried portobello mushrooms and small fried wild potatoes. To this the most delicious tarragon sauce. There was SO much of it all! My husband was served incredibly delicious wines at dinner, and our boss/cook/waiter “spiced up” the dinner with funny stories from the castle, but we also talked about many other topics. Time passed and we were served warm chocolate brownie with homemade vanilla ice cream, crumble and strawberry/rhubarb coulis. Satisfied for all the senses, we finished the dinner with an Irish coffee, and then we thanked for an incredibly delicious dinner and fantastic service. We are sure that the outdoor surroundings of the castle would have been beautiful to experience in another season, but now we chose a winter stay, so therefore we did not see much. We think it was a fantastic stay and the staff have a large share of the wonderful experience. Warmest recommendation from the two natives from Tølløse.

Et fantastisk jule ophold 😊 fantastisk mad. Personalet er også fantastisk 😊 kan kun anbefale stedet til andre 👍😊 PS hvorfor værelse kun få 4 stjerner wi-fi og tv var ikke det bedste på stedet, men ellers okay 😊

Tusind tak for et rigtig godt og hyggeligt ophold på Hvedholm slot. Opholdsrummene er helt fantastisk, man kan bare sidde og kigge på detaljer. Gode opholds muligheder udenfor, prøv at finde, den øverste teresse, hvor du kan se ud over vandet og indtil Fåborg. Restaurant er god, stolene er beregnet til at sidde et stykke tid i = godt polstret. Der er toiletter ved Restaurant og på værelset. Der er pænt og rent, sprit står flere steder, til fri afbenyttelse. Det er ikke sidste gang, turen går til Hvedholm slot.

Fantastisk flot sted, god service og lækker mad

Værelse på 2sal uden elevator lidt besværligt for ældre mennesker. Maden var god.
