Lovely super local eatery with fresh produce

Terrific experience. It is a "street food" concept which is closer to a high-end restaurant. The food was a very positive and unique experience, but the staff outshone it all. They were clearly passionate about the place and happy to share the history and experiences around it. Must-eat in Karrebæksminde.

We arrived around 8 p.m. without a reservation and were kindly informed that it would take 1/2 hour until the order could be taken and another 1/4 hour until we got food. Since we were sitting beautifully in the evening sun, we accepted the waiting time. The menu was manageable: 3 starters, 3 main courses and officially 2 desserts, but ultimately there was a third that wasn't on the menu. We had 2 different starters. The tartare with tarragon was delicious, the salmon carpaccio with salad and lemon dressing was also very tasty, definitely plenty of salmon. For the main course we shared veal ragout with green asparagus, jacket potatoes and red currants. The sauce was a bit too salty for me and the asparagus was too raw. My partner found both just right. The meat was definitely very tender and the currants were quite interesting. For dessert we had panna cotta, interspersed with a fruit puree, sprinkled with lots of chopped mint and sprinkled with plenty of chunks of caramelized white chocolate. The actual character of a pannacotta is somewhat lost. But it was still interesting and very tasty. The second dessert was a kind of cold fruit bowl with whole strawberries, a rhubarb soup and dots of Creme Fine. The service was super friendly. The ambience inside is rustic and cozy, outside it seems a bit unkempt, improvised, cobbled together. But that's what makes it interesting and lovable to a certain extent. The restaurant is in the second row, so there is no direct view of the water, but of those strolling past. Summary: definitely recommended. I would come back at any time, it's better to reserve in advance.
