Basso Aarhus

We came to celebrate my husband's birthday. An hour and 20 minutes after arrival we had only had 1 round of snacks and everyone was quite hungry. The food was indeed tasty but half-lukewarm and it was served slowly and the table was not cleared very well between courses. Nice young people who served us but unfortunately not what we had hoped for or value for the price this time.

Nice food, maybe a little small portions but then you can order several dishes. "Our" waiter was very service-minded, but was very busy. So there was a long time between main course and dessert. On the other hand, we experienced a lack of general service from the other waiter, who we asked for the bill. The answer was succinct: I'll probably pass that on to 'your' waiter, after which she went over to clear a table. So I ended up having to go up and ask to pay. A sad end to a nice dinner.

Very nice food and plenty of it, the staff was sweet and accommodating.

We went for the Sunday tasting, but all of us truly felt it was missing many italian dishes. Good service and environment but some of the food was lacking flavour. We had a tomato risotto that reminded us of a canned tomato soup with a lot of pure from the grocery store..I’d say 50% of the dishes were fantastic, but the others just didn’t live up to such good ratings. We were disappointed we didn’t get much pasta, as that’s what we were excited for. It was very nice to see the waitress ask how we felt about the food and how it could be improved as that is why they do the tasting menu to try out new dishes :) I was also surprised I left not completely full and that was after 13 dishes. I felt like there could’ve been some more protein. Still a pleasant night and would maybe return again.

I soon don't know what was better, the service or the food. As gluten intolerant, Basso is simply one of the best restaurants in Aarhus. Food is top notch and at a super fair price. This is now the second time with them. At the same time, our waiter was also just completely truthful about this. My boyfriend is from Spain and needs the presentation in English, he managed that easily with good humor and a smile. Thank you for a wonderful evening - a pleasure!

Very good Italian tratoria with casual and professional service. Not cheap but affordable and recommended if you want to travel to the italian savoir-faire (cheaper than fly ticket) with a Scandinavian twist and creative tast. Pesketar friendly.

Rigtig fin mad. Kokkens aften. Helt klart super lækker mad. Dog lige i underkanten hvis man er rigtig sulten. Prisen er meget fair for 13 retter.
