Basso Aarhus

Delicious and aesthetic food spread over 10 servings. Really nice serving. My favorites were the chicken soup, the butter-fried gnocchi and the 3 snacks you get as a starter.

Not as good as a year ago. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic and tasty experience at Basso a year ago. When we came back here in June, it was a bit of a disappointment. Only half of the dishes were a great taste experience, while the rest were nothing to mention. I was particularly disappointed by the lack of love given to my pescetarian menu. I got the feeling that they had downgraded the dishes I got instead of the meat dishes, and for the main course I got both baked cabbage and heart lettuce. Just too much baked/fried cabbage at once. With some dishes I got the feeling that they tried too hard. For example, the dessert had too many different flavor nuances that didn't go together. What could have been a mega delicious ice cream and berry compote became a bit of a strange experience. Overall, it's still good food, and some of the dishes were really exquisite, but we agreed that it wasn't worth the price this time.

Fantastic restaurant. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the dining experience is 10/10. Service and atmosphere are top notch, our staff have always been friendly, professional and atmospheric when they come to the table - also helpful with the menu for our elderly at the table. The food is exciting and has changed every time we've been there - exciting flavor combinations and good ingredients. Always comfortably full and their drink/wine menu fits so well.

We visited Basso on a Tuesday evening during the summer holidays. We were very well received and seated close to the window. Despite couples eating on both sides, it still seemed quiet and intimate. Good music on the system. We chose the explore menu consisting of 10 dishes, most of them for sharing, which works really well. It is served in 4 courses. 3 snacks, 3 starters 3 main courses and a dessert in a suitable size. We also chose the wine menu and cocktail menu respectively. First for the food: We would like to highlight the polenta with shrimp tartare, the ultra crispy and airy bread, the hearty chicken soup with fresh peas and the boneless chicken thigh. Really delicious. The other dishes were good, but the heaviness of the snacks, the umami tiredness and salt, the ricotta for the bread and the garnish for the chicken, could all have used a little acid in the form of vinegar or citrus. I would like to give 4.5 stars for the food, unfortunately you can't. A little more acid would have given the menu a 5. The dessert was also a little disappointing: Called "Basil - Strawberry - Salted Caramel" It was good again, but there wasn't enough basil oil on it to make it really exciting. Regarding wines and cocktails, both menus were good, although very different in flavor profiles. The waiter was sharp throughout and could draw and talk about both. A good piece of advice from here is to be sharper between the kitchen and the waiters, in order to be able to match food and drinks and lift the whole thing up a notch.

Vi har i dag været på Basso, for at prøve deres Sunday Tasting Menu. Det fortryder vi virkelig!!! - at vi ikke har gjort noget før. 13 retter, hvor af de 12 var til perfektion. Og den sidste blot ikke blev gift med vores smagsløg. Der var rigtig god variation i retterne. De blev serveret med passende afstand. “Rikke K” udøvede fantastisk, informativ og velforberedt service. Retterne blev formidlet og serveret til perfektion. Og uanset hvad vi havde af spørgsmål, kunne der med overskud, glæde og knowhow, svares på det hele uden problemer. Vi var mætte! - uden at være overmætte da vi forlod sted. Gode hyggelige faciliteter. Men maden og servicen gør, at vi alle kommer igen. Kæmpe anbefaling herfra. Og en kæmpe high-5 skal gives til Rikke.

Vandaag waren we een dagje in Aarhus en al snel kwamen we bij Basso terecht. Wat een geweldig restaurant zeg. Leuke bediening en heerlijk gegeten. Alles was echt om je vingers bij op te eten.
