Really delicious food, exceptionally attentive staff and beautiful surroundings. For almost 1,300 DKK for food and drinks for two people, I expect to be full, which unfortunately wasn't the case. I'm not the type to beg for more, and therefore I think that at the very least you should ask your guests if they're full. It would take so little to turn the experience into something positive – just a little extra pasta or bread, and I would have been completely satisfied.

I really loved the experience. The food was fantastic - I really enjoyed every dish and with fine dining places, often there are a few odd experimental dishes that are too weird, that’s not the case here. The best part was that we had one gluten free person and one vegetarian in our party - they didn’t make us feel annoying or uncomfortable that we had dietary restrictions, and the meals for us were just as thoughtful. It’s a cozy concept to have the main dining area in the basement, it made it feel like a well kept secret. The negative was we were seated next to the drinks preparation area, so there was a lot of noise of drinks being made, dishes clanking around, and servers overheating our conversation every time they had to fill up water for a table. The service was also not exceptional. We waited for 10 minutes before we even saw a host, and then had to stand around near the cold doorway for another 5 before being seated late. Overall it was an AMAZING experience with the food being the absolute star. Thank you chefs!

One of my best Italian cuisine experience, but not in Italy :) Highly recommend. Quality of the food is above many high level Italian restaurants I've been before.

Really good food experience. Basao has a lovely and relaxed atmosphere, they take their time to serve and you get good and personal service. We got 13 small and medium servings and we were completely full when we got there. I was a particular fan of the soup (although I would have liked it to be served in a preheated bowl - the cold bowl stole all the heat) and the pickled tomatoes were perfect with the delicious beef loin. Mega nice experience.

Delicious food and wonderful service!

The multi-course menu was almost consistently excellent – ​​the fish courses, in particular, were perfectly cooked and especially impressive. Overall, a very harmonious experience, without any fuss, but with great skill. A little extra tip for drivers: Check out the nearby DOKK1 – Europe's largest automated parking garage and surprisingly entertaining.

We went there for my birthday dinner and it was really great. We chose the 13 servings with wine pairing. I am vegetarian and my partner doesn't eat fish, which was accounted for in all the servings. Would recommend for celebrations. You can easily hold a conversation and the staff is attentive. They even got the recipe from the chef for one of the dishes because it tasted so nice.
