Basso Aarhus

An unforgettable experience from start to finish. We visited Basso on our wedding day, and everything was simply perfect. The food was absolutely incredible every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. But what truly made the evening special was the exceptional service from Sophia and her colleague. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel celebrated. As a lovely surprise, they placed a Danish flag on our table to mark our wedding day. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us and made the evening even more memorable. We enjoyed every single dish, every moment, and felt truly welcomed throughout the entire experience. Thank you for helping make such an important day in our lives even more special. We would gladly return and highly recommend Basso to anyone visiting Aarhus

We had a fantastic time dining at Basso last night. We were lucky to have the perfect window table 😊 Our waitress Nana was outstanding and a real testament to the restaurant: warm, welcoming, she had great knowledge of the wines and explained all the dishes really well. The food was incredible - so much flavour and the variety of dishes was great. I could not recommend the food more and would go back in a heartbeat. Atmosphere was lovely too. A real gem and I look forward to returning in the future.

I had a really lovely experience here and would definitely come back. The ambience is warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The whole atmosphere feels well thought out and comfortable, perfect for a social dining experience. The food was delicious, with a nice variety of small plates. Even though the dishes are served in smaller portions, they are more than enough to feel satisfied, and it’s actually a great way to try different things. What really stood out was the staff—they were incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and make sure everything was clear. That added a personal touch that made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful evening with great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed and social dining experience.

Really delicious food, exceptionally attentive staff and beautiful surroundings. For almost 1,300 DKK for food and drinks for two people, I expect to be full, which unfortunately wasn't the case. I'm not the type to beg for more, and therefore I think that at the very least you should ask your guests if they're full. It would take so little to turn the experience into something positive – just a little extra pasta or bread, and I would have been completely satisfied.

I really loved the experience. The food was fantastic - I really enjoyed every dish and with fine dining places, often there are a few odd experimental dishes that are too weird, that’s not the case here. The best part was that we had one gluten free person and one vegetarian in our party - they didn’t make us feel annoying or uncomfortable that we had dietary restrictions, and the meals for us were just as thoughtful. It’s a cozy concept to have the main dining area in the basement, it made it feel like a well kept secret. The negative was we were seated next to the drinks preparation area, so there was a lot of noise of drinks being made, dishes clanking around, and servers overheating our conversation every time they had to fill up water for a table. The service was also not exceptional. We waited for 10 minutes before we even saw a host, and then had to stand around near the cold doorway for another 5 before being seated late. Overall it was an AMAZING experience with the food being the absolute star. Thank you chefs!

Super delicious food! Too bad you have to wait 40 minutes to be allowed to pay, they can't be short of money👎👎
