A very nice and cosy place to chill and enjoy the good food after work, the lady server was very professional and explain in detail about the tapas we ordered. Nice atmosphere except be prepared for poor mobile network.

Fantastic waiter who was a wine steward. He and the 2 others presented the food and found matching wines. Really good service. Good food and a good size menu. We had a 3 course meal with wine.

30/03/2026: If you are on the Hærvejsrut or close to Viborg you should visit Niels Bugges Kro. There are 3 different menus to choose from: 3, 5 or 7 courses. We chose the 5 course menu with snacks and bubbles. It was a wonderful mix of seasonal ingredients but fish, shellfish, pheasant, cheese and kefir. It was all well-balanced and flavorful. We had a fantastic evening and there was good service all the way. We did not choose the wine or juice menu but instead went to war in their beautiful wine list. The place is open Thursday-Saturday so plan your route accordingly.
