Cafe Benjamin Syddjurs

On the last night of our vacation, my parents and I went to eat at Cafe Benjamin. We had a nice evening, with good food and atmosphere (my dad loved the wall with different beer cans and bottles). Mom and I had Chicken Milanese and dad had pasta with smoked salmon, to top it off my parents had Irish coffee and I had a carrot cake. What the other guests had also looked delicious (burgers and pizzas) Wish we had been there more times:)

Four people ate here; we all agreed that three stars was a good rating. We were given a table without a reservation (we were early/on time, though). At the cash register, we were given menus and allowed to choose a table. There are no starters on the menu, but we were able to share a cheese and garlic pizza. A heavy, boring meal. For the main course, we had three burger options and a mixed fish platter. It was plenty, and okay, but nothing more. The fish platter did have a unique composition (fish stew would have been a better term). All in all, it was fine for a full plate of food, and the taste was certainly okay, but that's about it. A lot of alcohol with the desserts (not 18?). The service was young and helpful, but could be a bit more proactive. With a shared starter, main course, dessert, and drinks, we spent around €40 per person. The portions were large (including the drinks), so keep that in mind, especially if you're dining there with young children. There were quite a few families there.

Four adults and two children (4 and 7 years old) ate at Benjamin's again at 6 p.m. Everything was excellent, as always. We received all our dishes about 15 minutes after ordering. I highly recommend Benjamin. We returned to our holiday home at 7:30 p.m., full and satisfied, and the timing was perfect for the kids, too.
