31/08/2025: Café Baghuset in Viborg, which has been voted the city's best café for the past 9 years, must of course also have tested their version of a Stjerneskud. We arrived at 7pm and ordered our food 12 minutes later. It took 17 minutes and then it was on our table. Quite a reasonable time, when you consider that we were not the only ones in the café. First impressions of the service are positive, although something is missing. A shooting star without steamed fish is technically not a shooting star but a star launcher. Apart from that, the dish must of course be judged based on what they write on the menu and here it does not say anything about steamed fish. So fair enough that it is not included. This is the first time I have tried a fish fillet that is a turbot. It tastes absolutely amazing and I don't miss that it is usually a plaice fillet. The turbot is finely breaded and fried in butter as it should be. It is juicy and tastes fantastic. Under the fish fillet there was cold smoked salmon, as well as delicious hand-peeled shrimps that were turned in a tasty dill cream. At the very bottom we find some lovely butter-fried sourdough bread. Even butter-fried on both sides. Fortunately, not something with very cheap toast bread that we so often encounter. That's how the bottom should be made. But trees don't grow completely into the sky, because there are also some ups that need to be mentioned when they now choose to charge a whole 289,- for this bandit. When you write that it comes with roe and sauce cocktail, I would also like to be able to find it on the plate. The garnish they use is not tasty roe, but caviar (made from seaweed), which doesn't taste like anything. Nice garnish but nothing more. Sauce cocktail usually has an orange color, but there was nothing else but the salmon and caviar that had that color. In terms of taste, I couldn't find it either. So either it wasn't there, or there was very little of it. I had to leave a little bit, the 2 cucumber slices. I don't understand why you use old and dry slices. It wasn't delicious. The salad was fresh enough, and in appropriate quantities. I missed the fresh green asparagus, which is usually also included, but fair enough that they have chosen to omit them. When I come to the overall assessment, the food we had and what I chose to eat, is really delicious and can easily pull a 4/5, but there were also some ups that pull down. Now serve what is on your menu and make sure it is fresh. And especially when you choose to keep the price at the high end. I end up with a 3.4/5.
19/08/2025: I ordered fish n’ chips, the fish was completely cooked to a shame, it was so dry and chewy, the fish had absolutely no taste at all. The fries were really good though.
Ordered a bottled beer, with it I get a glass that is really dirty and has chips in it, I then go up and get a replacement.
The cutlery was dirty.
The acoustics are not very good, and it is difficult to hear what each other is saying.
The staff is actually very nice, but we were not asked if things were as they should be, all in all, a bit of a sad experience etc.
