Kazo Izakaya Aarhus

We came as a group of three and chose the Superb menu, and we were genuinely impressed. Every dish showed real finesse, especially the sauces, which were layered, balanced and clearly worked out with a lot of care. Across all four servings it felt like one well-rounded tasting experience rather than a series of separate plates. For an izakaya this is top level cooking. If you are tired of the usual sushi you find everywhere, KAZO is a refreshing alternative: Japanese technique, creative combinations and excellent ingredients. Absolutely recommended, we would come back anytime.

Food - Miso soup was as salty as Sea water. Monkfish was good though. The rice on Maki seems like it came from the fridge, very dry and tough. Service - I dont have high expectations really. This isn't really a country where you get good service. Atmosphere - Very chill for a sunday. It's alright.

Cozy Japanese-inspired restaurant with good acoustics, so it is possible to talk. Good, attentive service. The food is exceptionally well-prepared and exciting, imaginative with a Japanese twist. We had the “superb” menu which surprised with great variety and deep umami notes. And everyone was plenty full. We will definitely come again.

10 dishes as a sharing meal - most of them deep-fried and in fairly large pieces that were not really suitable for eating with chopsticks - other things were fried/drowned in oil also in large chunks - the food was generally very salty and applied with large amounts of dressing and chili. If the fusion consisted of Japanese food and Kentucky fried chicken, it would have been completely successful. The staff seemed unengaged and had no control over the contents of the menu and they also forgot the coffee that was ordered for dessert - which was ok, neither deep-fried nor salty. All in all, a flat experience - unfortunately

We had the Sunday menu. 9 small dishes and 3 drinks for 500 kr per person. Super delicious and good value for money

Really delicious Japanese food and drinks. We chose 13 Japanese sharing dishes, and there was good variety and different delicious taste experiences. Highly recommended!
