Excellent food! Competent and efficient service in the old, charming inn :-(

This historic inn is an excellent stop. The rooms in the annex are a bit dated, but functional, clean, and equipped with very comfortable beds. The main building is charming and cozy, and the breakfast is excellent and varied. If you get a chance, have dinner (kitchen open until 8 p.m.). The food is excellent, at fine dining level, and with a varied wine list. The staff is also very friendly.

We had a wonderful, beautiful, and delicious lunch today that was everything we hoped of a kro experience! Norre Vissing Kro is picturesque from outside and in. The interior is the perfect blend of old and new and the welcome is warm and hospitable. It felt traditional, elevated, cozy, and modern all at the same time. For lunch, you can choose between à la carte or their specials of the day, three distinct dishes served on one plate, in this case a white fish (not sure which but delicious, so I would like to know!) in a mango sauce with frisée and toasted almonds, paella with chicken and mussels (wonderfully seasoned!!!), and a gorgeous piece of veal loin topped with a bit of a spicy ratatouille with a side of truffle dip, sort of like a labneh. Gorgeous food, presentation, and perfectly portioned! In fact I was worried it would be too much food when I heard what it was but it was wisely portioned and I could have eaten heaps of that beautiful paella! This array of dishes is followed by a petite - again perfectly portioned - cheese board with an onion compote and freshly baked bread. The two wines we had were both very good and the Chardonnay with notes of elderflower being a particular standout. The authenticity, purity, and passion are evident in the service, food, and experience. I’d love to go back for the multi-course dinner menu sometime! Oh yes, and thank you for being so sweet and accommodating to our dog! He loved how peaceful it was, plus the guests table next to us gave him their leftover meat. He was also in heaven!
