For the first time we went to "Thursday Grill" and it was actually a good experience. Cozy atmosphere, smiling and welcoming service and for us, most importantly, really good food 😉 At first glance, it didn't look like much on the buffet but they were very attentive and really good at constantly replenishing with new items and there was plenty to choose from. When they open up again after the holidays. we will try their brunch which I definitely ALSO have high expectations for 😀

We were seated right away, we were the only guests, waited about 20 minutes for 3 cans of coke and even longer for the starters. The starters were so delicious, beautifully presented and homemade bread. Main course: The plaice was NOT worth writing home about. It seemed like it was drowned in lemon, almost no breading and boring accompaniments. The entrecote was not seasoned properly, a little too hard fried and tasteless bearnaise. The frites were very tasty, however.

Good food and service, fantastic surroundings but the acoustics are terrible, when the room is full the noise is really bad, you should do something about that, the few sound-absorbing panels mounted in the ceiling are not enough at all, if it is fixed I will probably be back, otherwise no.

Today we had a fantastic relaxing day and enjoyed SUNDAY BRUNCH at Karetmagerens hus, Gavnø for ONLY 295,- per place setting by the experienced chef and restaurateur Kenn Meier, where a passion for homemade cooking is shown in the kitchen, which is reflected in every dish. Rarely have we had such an inviting and perfectly made brunch: EGG Benedict, Slider with beef, Smoked salmon, Various exciting cold cuts, sausages, bacon, creamy scrambled eggs, potato rösti, selection of cheeses, Caesar salad, stracciatella salad, pancakes, chocolate mousse, cinnamon muffins, Greek yogurt, Strawberry/banana smoothie, coffee, tea, orange juice and apple juice, water w/o bubbles, crispy crusty sourdough bread, coarse rye bread, various biscuits, melted butter. The staff was welcoming, attentive and friendly. Their professionalism ensures that every guest is greeted with a smile and we had an exceptional experience.
