The food, wine and service were impeccable, but the poor acoustics and a cheerful group at the next table raised the noise level to between 96 and 98 decibels, so we skipped the coffee and escaped the noise. If and when the restaurant gets the acoustics under control, we will be happy to come back. Other fine restaurants have the same problem. Why the hell isn't something being done about it?

If you like fish, it doesn't get any better. Focus on the good ingredients, high level and never pretentious. Highly recommended!

Deserved top grade for the price. Both quality with fish, vegan and meat (must be ordered in advance. The service was good at finding wines that suited our taste, although our own first choice was nothing anyway. Would recommend them for a nice evening with a relaxed atmosphere.

What a gem of a restaurant. The food, ambiance, and service were top-notch. Our party had both the fish and vegetarian courses. Both were exceptional, every detail and flavor perfect, the service was attentive, fun but nor intrusive or overbearing. A perfect evening.

Kazo Izakaya

21/03/2025: I highly recommend Kazo, the food and drinks were top notch. The service made it a very special experience. The waiter Magnus took the time to tell us about Japanese cuisine and we were offered kombucha and sake. Something I had never heard of or tasted. These can be enjoyed both warm and cold. We also tasted new style sashimi which was a great experience. We had sushi which was prepared from lovely ingredients.
18/02/2025: If you’re looking for a Japanese food experience, this is not the place. While the food was good, there is nothing in this place that makes you feel like in an Izakaya: not the ambience, the food, the interior design, music, nothing. It was very disappointing. We got the 10 servings menu and were served more potatoes than fish dishes. I wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back, unless for the amazing cocktails: those really hit the mark! Ps: if what you’re after is Japanese food try Tokyo Kitchen or Ramen Takumi.

24/03/2024: What an excellent hostel!! When you provide quality, you get quality. Everything is clean, comfortable, spacious, and well looked after. There’s indoor mini golf, a bar (obviously) where you can roll dice during happy hour to get discounts on beer and cider, a restaurant, and a shop. The hostel is located in the middle of a park which is walking distance to all the cool city centre stuff. Plus, the beds and lockers are enormous, and they supply you with towels!!
