Royal Aarhus

Nice hotel, VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. Pretty small gym. Hotel very well located. Amazing breakfast!

I would happily return to Hotel Royal in the fall, winter, or spring. The building is charming (the glass-domed restaurant off the the spiral stair case is a dream), and the staff is warm and attentive. Caveat: air conditioning is not as advertised. The room we paid a premium for had a non-functional unit, and when we went to the desk to report the issue, we had to wait behind guests there to discuss their own malfunctioning A/C. We were offered a credit, but the night of sleep was mostly a loss. It wasn’t an ideal experience, but enough was great that the next time we’re in Århus during a season when the probable high is 20° or less, look for us at the Hotel Royal.

A perfect place to stay in Denmark! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was exquisitely designed, impeccably clean, and offered breathtaking views that made our stay even more memorable. The attention to detail was exceptional, from the luxurious soaps and lotions provided to every thoughtful touch throughout the room. Breakfast was another highlight—an incredible spread featuring fresh fruit, sweet pastries, delicious hot dishes, and some of the best coffee we've had in Europe. If you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and unforgettable place to stay in Denmark, this hotel is truly a hidden gem. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Very good service. Good breakfast. Very cool old building with lots of nice appointments and charm. Unfortunate downsides of an old hotel: the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired, no door on the shower, obvious water damage and probably mold due to splashing, water pressure only ok. Toilet sometimes gets stuck perpetually refilling and needs to be reflushed to fix it. Possibly the biggest issue depending your sleep temperature tolerance: the air conditioning does not really work cool the room in summer. Set it to 19c and woke up overheated. The room could use some more outlets as well but otherwise it has a good bed, enormous windows, and is overall pleasant. No noticeable problems with noise from outside or other rooms The last photo is the view of Aarhus a 20 minute walk away.

Afternoon coffee with much more than we could drink. It was incredibly delicious! Fantastic friendly service and beautiful surroundings. This is my second time here and I can especially recommend the hot cocoa. We were offered it the first time and it tasted wonderful.

Missed a restaurant at the hotel that serves dinner.

One of the best hotels I have ever experienced, rarely am I so positively surprised and impressed. Can only recommend a stay here

The hotel is nice, the service is good, but what is a drag is the extremely high parking fee.. 650 DKK. Per. Started day. That is, if you arrive at 3 pm on Friday and leave at 11 am on Saturday, you have to pay for 2 full days, i.e. 1300 DKK. In parking.. it is almost the same price as the rooms.

First visit to Aarhus and we are only happy to have chosen Hotel Royal. Definitely where we will come back for our next visit! It is located close to the promenade/pedestrian street, places to eat for dinner or a late night snack. It is generally centrally located. The staff was service-minded and helpful from start to finish. Everything from tips to good places to eat, experiences etc. The hotel is modern and stylishly decorated with memories from the historical era. It is really clean and wonderfully spacious. You can see they have modernized it to today's design but still kept the important values ​​from the hotel's origins.

I was at the Hotel Royal on Feb 23 and left a small personal item behind. I notified the hotel that morning, and they arranged for a lost and found service to ship it back to me. I received my item on March 2nd, all the way in the United States. I cannot say enough positive things about the Hotel Royal and their high level of service. I am very appreciative to all the staff for their help. I'd recommend them to anyone just based off this experience, however their location and room quality are two other big selling points. I also very much appreciated how easy it was to connect to wifi and stream and cast content to my TV. Thanks again!
