28/08/2024: This place is exactly what the name implies, it is definately a social hub. In the lobby area, there is a resteraunt, a deli, pool table, 2 ping pong tables and cushioned shelves I guess you could say, for student studying or for just lounging, there are also booths in the rec area, if you just want to sit a talk or eat your lunch or whatever. The staff is excellent, there was a scheduling issue with my reservation, which was my mistake, but the staff didn't miss a beat and resolved the problem straight away. Special thank you to Andres & Maeva for their quick, polite and professional resolution of my problem. The rooms are very affordable and very clean. The food, both at the deli and the resteraunt, was very good and the lady at the entrance to the breakfast buffet, actually took the time to describe each thing on their buffet and the location of each, that has never happened to me, ever, I wish I would have asked her name so I could also put her into this post. This place is not a 5 star hotel, but if your looking for an inexpensive and very unique hotel in the middle of Amsterdam, then this is your place.
