Sophiendal Gods Skanderborg

A real castle, most likely a hunting castle with a soul that has not been renovated away. The soul sits in the walls. If you don't like floors creaking and doors not always closing completely, then don't travel here. But if you like real atmosphere, personal service and good food, this is the place. Equally good for work as a romantic getaway. I'll be back.

We went to their Christmas market - it was pleasant enough, there was just too little to see. You could make it so that it was spread out a little more on the property

Had booked a stay through their website, but didn't get to start with the room that was booked or the food. However, it was eventually resolved. However, there were dead insects in the room and some cleaning was lacking. The food was good though, so could consider eating there again but not really staying the night

Very worn but idyllic. It was young and inexperienced people who served in the restaurant and there was no control over it. The breakfast buffet was paltry and strange that something was in the hallway and something in the restaurant. There was great chaos when we arrived and many rooms incl. ours was not ready at all.
