St. Pauls Apothek Aarhus

Been there several times. Cozy place, and atmosphere and good service. Food and cocktail - lovely. The only downside is that their drinks can sometimes be too special.

The drinks weren't quite on par, and the room and music weren't particularly cozy or fitting for a cocktail bar. Service was good, though!

Here you eat (and drink) well. Unfortunately they have closed their smoking lounge...

My boyfriend and I visited St. Paul's Apothek on March 2, attracted by their exciting concept of serving cocktails with the food. We chose the Apothekeren menu, which included a welcome cocktail and three servings with 3 cocktails. Although some of the cocktails were better than others, we enjoyed all four and they went well with the food. The starter, seafood salad with lobster, was excellent. Unfortunately, the main course, Bavette on Danish beef, or as it is called flank steak, was not sufficient to satisfy me, the taste was not lacking. I pointed this out to the waiter and they were incredibly accommodating. They both offered us a free cocktail or an extra dish for dessert which was a great gesture and a testament to their great service. Although the food was delicious, the portion of the main course was too small in relation to the price, (this is not the first time they have been told this) therefore I give 4 stars for the food. 5 stars for the excellent service and 3 stars for the atmosphere as there was quite a bit of noise in the restaurant. Overall it was a good experience with good food and great service. We are definitely considering returning, a visit is highly recommended.

Was at st. Pauls Apotek a few years ago and I clearly rated the pharmacy at the time as one of Aarhus' best cocktail places. We tried to repeat the success, but unfortunately the service and drinks were not at all up to par, in contrast to the prices, which had seen a good increase upwards. So clearly room for improvement. Maybe we were just unlucky… Will check the place again next time I'm around.

A nice smaller restaurant. We were there with a larger party of 18 people, and they are not really geared up for that. The waiters are very service minded, but there was a very long time between dishes, which was probably due to the fact that there were 18 of us.

Great eatery that is worth the money in the food alone. But cocktails and mocktails made specifically for the dishes make it an extraordinary experience. Something I have only experienced at St. Paul's Pharmacy. We received extremely good service here, and were even given a tour of the place and premises. All dishes and drinks were meticulously described and dishes were served at perfect intervals. The old premises really give a good and raw atmosphere. And it's great to be able to watch the bartenders mix drinks while you enjoy your food. The only negative thing to say about the place is the acoustics, at least in the main room. If you sit further inside the building, it is hardly a problem. This is just one of those places that must be experienced.
