Substans Aarhus

Substans was one of our top dining experiences in Denmark-Sweden trip. It is located in the revitalized waterfront harbor area. It has a beautiful view and modern interior, for some reason the view enhanced our taste buds capacity as well. The staff of five worked in both the kitchen and dining area, and they were all excellent! The food presentation was wonderful, and the place offered a good balance between traditional Nordic foods, modern culinary approach and ingredients sourcing. it didn't disappoint us for choosing the place among the options we had!

Fantastic food and not least the juice menu, which I never thought I would try.

A fantastic evening was had at Substans. The view itself from the 11th floor, is fantastic, but the food and wine is what really shines. We were pleasantly surprised that some of the dishes were actually quite spicy, which is often not something you see at Michelin restaurants. Service was really good as well.

Saturday lunch with the boys. Super good experience. Great service without being pushy. Really good food. For once, a wine menu that can be recommended. Substans has chosen 2 whites and 2 reds - although the tendency is very much for a predominance of white in the menus and the reds here went well with the fish and vegetable dish. Strong! We will come again.

It's hard to find something to put your finger on at Substan's lunch. My expectations were high, but they were met to the extent of flavors, textures and wine pairing. Service was top notch and it's the best lunch I've had in a long time. It makes you want more. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Maden var god, men til de penge kunne det have været bedre. Servicen var rigtig god, men vi blev hastet igennem de første retter, hvor tallerknerne nærmest blev fjernet mens man sad og tyggede maden. Overordnet en fin oplevelse, men vi havde bestilt fuld menu og fuld vinmenu hvorefter de kommer og serverer champagne som det første og spørger om vi ikke skal starte med det, vi svarer jo, da vi jo lige har bestilt vinmenuen og vi er i troen om at champagnen var omfattet af denne. Det var den ikke og vi opdager ved betaling at vi har betalt for champagnen udover. Det synes jeg ikke var ordentligt.
