The Open Kitchen Aarhus

The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and well-curated. The food was generally good, with the desserts being the highlight for me. They were unique and showed a thoughtful effort to offer something different to customers. However, the restaurant is quite expensive, and a few things didn’t justify the high price. Despite the place being nearly empty, they ran out of bread when we asked for more, which seemed odd for such a large establishment. Additionally, we were politely asked to leave as soon as we finished eating because the kitchen had closed (we had only spent about an hour and a half there). While the request was made kindly and might be normal in Denmark, it didn’t sit well considering the price, which was close to what you’d expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Overall, the food was good, but I don’t think I would return.

Really delicious carpaccio and beef cuvette. Would recommend getting it here, over other places that have similar deals. Incredibly good quality and quantity for the price.

Well-prepared, uncomplicated food at an affordable price. Good service and happy employees who clearly enjoy working together. The atmosphere is excellent!

We stopped by last Friday, where we ordered cuvette ad libitum with potatoes and béarnaise sauce for DKK 275 per person. The meat was indeed fantastic, but the experience paled somewhat when the potatoes, due to a thick layer of spice, were almost inedible. Unfortunately, the sauce was no better and had little to do with béarnaise. We got a red wine sauce instead, which was also not really worth the 275 DKK. The staff were servile and smiling. We ended up having a nice evening and hope that the kitchen gets a sauce and potato course.

I got cuvette ad libitum with steak fries and béarnaise. All in all, it was a really good experience with good taste

The "all you can eat" steak is fine, nothing fancy, just same cut with fries over and over again. The service was extremely friendly. It is a cozy atmosphere were you can go with friends.

We have just left Open Kitchen after a really good experience. Was met by sweet Freja who was attentive throughout and provided good service. Really nice food and wine too reasonable price, we will definitely come again and happily recommend to others. Connie Fuglsig👍😊
