Super cozy place right next to the most beautiful surroundings. The food is absolutely top notch and the service is also really good. The only thing that detracts from an otherwise really good experience is the physical setting. It seems a bit worn and needs a refresh.

A fantastic alternative to the restaurants in Silkeborg. Aalekroen is located like a hidden oasis in Sejs-Svejbæk. Tasty food with large portions and a very atmospheric and beautiful place. Bonus: you can sail there.

Dear reader. Stopped by Ålekroen today, had a business meeting that was ready to enjoy the good weather on the terrace right next to the frequently used Gudenå. There was a good atmosphere at the tables out in the garden and the staff were very attentive. The food was great. It's been a long time since I've had such a good Parisian steak as here. And to go with it we were recommended to taste their new home-made rosé wine, fantastically fresh and really drinkable. They mentioned it was the "house wine". Really a good find for the price. We finished with coffee and some dessert. I can highly recommend their apple cake served in a glass. The meeting ended well, and a lot can be agreed upon in these settings at Ålekroen. :-) Thanks for the food and good service. Who wants.... Ålekroen WILL :-) Try it.

12/07/2025: Amazing bread and cakes. And great coffee! If you're nearby, a visit is a must 😄
05/07/2025: We got so much, and could not be happier with it all! A great, tasty, perfectly textured sourdough bread, a cardamom bun packed with flavour, a wiener, almond thing to die for, some pizza dough to take home for a simple dinner, and a recipe book for later. 10/10 would recommend!
