A fantastic alternative to the restaurants in Silkeborg. Aalekroen is located like a hidden oasis in Sejs-Svejbæk. Tasty food with large portions and a very atmospheric and beautiful place. Bonus: you can sail there.

A great place to enjoy Danish classics. Reasonable prices. And the setting is really nice!

Dear reader. Stopped by Ålekroen today, had a business meeting that was ready to enjoy the good weather on the terrace right next to the frequently used Gudenå. There was a good atmosphere at the tables out in the garden and the staff were very attentive. The food was great. It's been a long time since I've had such a good Parisian steak as here. And to go with it we were recommended to taste their new home-made rosé wine, fantastically fresh and really drinkable. They mentioned it was the "house wine". Really a good find for the price. We finished with coffee and some dessert. I can highly recommend their apple cake served in a glass. The meeting ended well, and a lot can be agreed upon in these settings at Ålekroen. :-) Thanks for the food and good service. Who wants.... Ålekroen WILL :-) Try it.

Really good food as always, there were a lot of people and we were told there would be a bit of a long wait. It was ok for us, we enjoyed ourselves

Friday's barbecue buffet - it can't be better! The buffet had everything your heart could desire. We were greeted by a wonderful smell and a warm welcome 😁We sat outside - everyone did, and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere of happy people, good food and the songs from the talented troubadour. The buffet offered more than we could possibly get through - several different types of potatoes and cuts from the grill, salads, fish, charcuterie and all kinds of dressings, sauces and side dishes. What we tasted was good. And then an extra tip for the staff: How sweet, straightforward and attentive you are. Herewith a recommendation. We will definitely be back
