Acqua Blu Varde

Delicious and large pizzas. Possibility to bring the rest. Cozy atmosphere even if you sit close, you can see the pizza being made. Very traditional pizzaria restaurant. The price is good for both food and drinks, and especially considering that it is a holiday town, where much more costs, this place is quite cheap and the quality is top notch. The whole restaurant could do with a makeover, as it is getting a bit worn, but the authentic atmosphere should be kept. Will definitely come again and definitely worth a recommendation.

Update: Unfortunately, we were disappointed for the third time today. Last year in March, the pizzas were already darker than usual, so the crusts were burnt. It was the same in the fall. And today we were really looking forward to pizza again, but the crusts and even the base were so burnt in places that it was barely edible. What a shame. Pizza from Aqua Blu is a must for us on every trip to Blåvand. Whether it's takeaway or dining in, we've never been disappointed with the food before.

Pizzeria, good selection, freshly prepared. A little under-seasoned but overall tasty – better that way than too spicy! Pasta dishes very good but somewhat small portions. Service was standard and friendly.

This was my second visit to the "Acqua Blue" pizzeria, the first being in April 2023, and I can once again report a very pleasant experience. Admittedly, the wait in the entrance area to get a table might take some getting used to for some visitors, but as someone born in East Germany, I'm familiar with being shown to a table from days long past, so it wasn't anything to get worked up about. Although the pizzeria was quite full at lunchtime, shortly after 1 p.m., we were given a table for two very quickly after a very short wait. Being seated in the area behind the pizza ovens was perfectly acceptable; after all, we wanted to have lunch, not dance on a stage. The server returned quite promptly after we were seated, and since we had already decided on pasta dishes, the young man took our order with a friendly smile. Our drinks were served immediately after we ordered, and we only had to wait a very short time for our lunch. The dishes we chose, Tagliatelle ai Funghi di bosco (spaghetti with wild mushrooms and cream sauce) and Penne alla Contadina (macaroni with ham, meat sauce, mushrooms, and cream), were beautifully presented. The appearance was no illusion; everything tasted excellent, and the portions were exceptionally generous. After finishing our drinks, we paid at the counter, as is often the custom in such restaurants, and said our goodbyes after complimenting our visit. At around €44, this lunch was certainly not inexpensive for us, but it was reasonable. We will definitely visit Acqua Blu again on one of our next trips to Blåvand to indulge in some gourmet cuisine.

Food was delicious and service was friendly, but despite few customers there was a longer waiting time.

The table we had reserved for 8 people was unavailable at the agreed time. We had to share two individual tables as a group. We arrived on time but waited 10 minutes in the cramped entrance area. The ambiance was cold and uncomfortable in the unheated conservatory. The fan made it even worse. Despite putting our jackets back on, we were freezing. The food... the tortellini are edible, but be sure to order a spoon. They're not very filling. The pizzas looked burnt and weren't tasty. One wasn't given away because it tasted strange. Unfortunately, it feels like mass production – quantity over quality. We went there because it was supposed to be the best pizzeria in the area... I can't recommend it.

We were very disappointed with our pizzas, and the flies in the dining area were also very annoying!

The price/performance ratio is excellent. The pizza is prepared traditionally and is very tasty 😋 Definitely recommended.
