While Axelhus is no longer the iconic dive bar it once was this sister bar at least offers some better beer alternatives. To Øl on tap, and in the fridge, alongside Brew York. Fed up with fizzy industrial lager? Well then this is the place for you.

Me and my wife ate some sandwiches and chicken tenders. All were really delicious and especially the herring dish with curry herring is highly recommended. Axelbar really has many different types of beer and thankfully there are also schnapps although I couldn't find it on the menu. Thanks for a lovely lunch and see you again

Lovely lunch in the sun with the family. Good sandwiches with attentive staff. However, no specials like the other restaurants around the square have.

A gem on Axeltorv. Large selection of Danish and foreign beers. Well-made smørrebrød. Nice vantage point in the outdoor dining area.

24/07/2025: I loved this spot!! I will dream about their blood orange drink. The meal (a salad) was flavorful and colorful! Both qualities that I always appreciate in food. The gals working, were working hard and were lovely! I enjoyed the location and orientation of tables outward towards the courtyard! This was a nice reprieve during an unusually hot afternoon!
