A popular Japanese-style izakaya (pub). The sashimi was surprisingly delicious (bonito, marinated mackerel, yellowtail, etc.). The rice was a little firm.

A small but quaint atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in the Orient. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming: the owner takes care to seat customers quickly and in the best spot. A cup of green tea is offered to start the meal, in true Japanese style. The menu is varied and interesting, and the food is EXCELLENT. A must-do experience for authentic Asian cuisine in the heart of Copenhagen.

Amazing food. Pricy but absolutely delicious. The teriyaki salmon had so much flavors and the sashimi just melted in the mouth! Staff was kind and helpful, very cute waitress too! Vi spontaneously visited slightly after opening time and it was already crowded. Place is small but we got two seats in their bar area. Recommend to book in advance! Highly recommend this place and I will definitely visit again when

We "discovered" this restaurant 5 years ago and we come here every time we are in Copenhagen. This is the only Japanese restaurant I eat at and I am always satisfied.

Truly authentic experience! Just like being in Japan again🤩 We hadn't been quick enough to book a table, but after contacting the place, we got two seats at the bar, and it was just perfect☺️Really good service, and welcoming staff! We got their menus with udon and gyoza on the side. Both were so delicious, and we'd love to come back!😁

This was probably the best restaurant we ate at in our 10 days in Copenhagen. We didn't have a reservation so we weren't sure if they were going to be able to seat us, the space is small so I definitely recommend making a reservation! They were wonderful and got us a table and I'm so thankful. The food was absolutely incredible, we have a lot of amazing Japanese food back home but they were on another level. We got the tuna and tonkatsu and they were both perfect, the sauces for both were incredible. The Mapotofu was fantastic also. They were super sweet and amazing hosts, gave great recommendations, and were really accommodating to everyone around making sure people felt comfortable trying a cuisine they maybe hadn't had before. Seriously, go support this family. It's phenomenal.

09/08/2026: Alright, but considering the hype and high prices, it didn’t live up to the reputation. I also cannot see how it can be so highly ranked globally. Pizzas were good, and if you like thin crispy dough then it is quite good. I prefer the chewy Napoli type. The place is also enormous in the inside, with very, very many rooms with tables. Like a big production system in the back, and not quite the traditional small neighborhood place. The tiramisu was different and interesting, but underwhelming

Mikkeller Bar

14/07/2026: Beer selection not great, one decent stout, the other is some kind of weird chocolate cake drink which was nasty. EDIT: As I noted in a review of another local bar (Another Mikkeller location), I realized some of my reviews were perhaps overly critical in terms of star ratings. I am updating a couple of reviews for that reason. As my original post mentioned, I was not a fan of the beer selection they had, although the stout they had was the best of any of the Mikkeller locations I visited, though I would rather have a Guinness, at least it was pretty good. The other dark beer they had at the time was extremely sweet and not something I would ever order again. The staff was actually really nice and did their best to accommodate our large party. The room we were in had a door leading outside which we were able to prop open, otherwise it would have been unbearably hot down there. It isn't a large bar, but they do have some outdoor seating as well. Overall, the location is pretty good, a decent cozy place, but not great for a large party (You'd need to go to War Pigs to handle a large group easily).
13/06/2026: For a good, locally brewed Danish-style beer! Perfect spot!!!
