10/10/2024: I attended a class there a few weeks ago (maybe two months?) with a group. We quickly learned some skills and managed to create something which resembled what I wanted to make. I have since done some painting at home using this introductory knowledge and will book again for another class next time I am in the city.

02/06/2024: I’ve been at Art Escape Studios for Oil Sundays for 8 months. Art Escape Studios is so much more than classes, it’s also a wonderful community held together by the founder Mel. If you’ve never painted before but always wanted to try, Mel creates an environment that is approachable and supportive - you’ll surprise yourself with what you can do! If you’re an experienced painter, Mel’s lifetime of experience can guide your project to the next level. I also took an 8 week “Figure in Oil” masterclass with Jason Patrick Jenkins, hosted by Art Escape Studios. The class is held on Zoom and you receive the recordings afterwards, which has been so valuable to be able to review the material over and over. Jason is a master in his craft and a wonderful teacher, and throughout the 8 weeks you go from drawing to a full color figure study. The class size is small and Jason provides individualized feedback each class. This class really took my understanding and skillset to a new level! Looking forward to continuing my Sundays in the studio with Mel and joining Jason or the handful of other artist-led classes Art Escape offers :)
