Brasserie 1861 Helsingør

It's was beyond good. I don't want to ovetsell it but it was really an amazing experience. Edible art. Both superior taste and also plentiful (the 5 course dinner).

You sit in fantastically beautiful surroundings and you sit very comfortably with the most beautiful view. The wine list is good and very large. There is no doubt that they are doing very well here. We got their tasting menu with fish. Everything around tasted good, but the actual quality and execution of the seafood was well below mediocre. It simply did not taste as fresh as one would expect from this type of restaurant. However, the hotel is fantastic and definitely worth a visit.

We at hear as a family of 4 as part of a small weekend package. We had the best service - she was attentive, friendly and experienced. The food service was perfect. No overlapping, cold food or long waits between dishes - everything was delicious. Couldn’t get enough of the syrnet fløde(sour cream) in the stir fried hiramasa. The blackberry pie was a great way to end with a good cup of coffee.

I had dinner at 1861, chose their set menu and really enjoyed it. All the dishes were prepared and presented in an imaginative way, and flavors were well-balanced, not over-engineered, striking the right balance between artistic and down-to-earth. The amount of food was just right too. A separate shout out to the waitress Zenia (apologies if I misspelled your name!!) who was really knowledgeable about the food and all the ingredients. The view from the restaurant is amazing.
