Lovely restaurant with a well balanced, tasty 7 course menu, nice staff and great view

Brasserie 1861 delivers an excellent 5-course menu packed with seasonal flavors. The view over the Øresund is absolutely fantastic, and the service is incredibly pleasant. An obvious place for a complete and cozy evening with good food.

We visited Restaurant 1861 at Marienlyst to celebrate a special occasion with other couples, and we had high expectations for the evening. Fortunately, they were met - and more! From the moment we arrived, we felt pampered. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, and it was a special experience to enjoy a glass of champagne with a view of the Øresund and the sound of the water in the background. The service was attentive, professional and personal. The staff made an effort to talk about both the dishes and the wines, which made the dinner even more exciting and educational. We chose the 5-course menu, which offered several new and surprising taste experiences. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, but the lobster in particular was a taste experience that we still talk about. All in all, we had a thoroughly wonderful evening with fantastic food, exquisite service and an atmosphere that made the celebration extra special. It certainly won't be the last time we indulge ourselves at Restaurant 1861. Highest recommendations from here!

Extremely small portions! I ordered buratta, and it turned out to be 1/3 of a normal buratta. My friends were shocked by the size of my portion. Apparently, the restaurant is also going through a crisis and the portions are getting smaller. I don't recommend this place for food. Maybe just have some wine with a sea view.
