Please turn down the music. The sound level is generally loud. They should do something about the acoustics. The food was tasty, but stop with the small portions. The waiters were nice enough, but quite unfocused and forgetful, and didn't know anything about the food.

I have eaten at Lupo in Aarhus several times, but my most recent experience simply deserves its own review — and that is largely due to the waiter we had. I can hardly remember the last time I met a waiter who managed to elevate a restaurant experience from “really good” to something you actually go home and talk about afterwards. He was simply excellent. First of all, his Italian language skills were impressive. It wasn’t just the classic restaurant Italian, where you know a few names of dishes and wines. He had a naturalness and confidence in the language that made you really feel like you had been transported to Italy for a moment. He spoke with a passion and enthusiasm that made even the smallest details interesting, and his way of conveying Italian was both authentic, vivid and enormously charming. But what really impressed me was his knowledge of the food. He could talk about the dishes in a way that made them far more interesting than if he had simply listed the ingredients. There was a clear understanding of where the food came from, why certain ingredients were used, how different dishes had developed, and what role they played in Italian food culture. It didn’t feel like a menu being presented. It felt more like a little gastronomic lesson — but without ever becoming pedantic. On the contrary, it was incredibly engaging. You could tell he was genuinely interested in the food and its history, and that enthusiasm was completely contagious. He also had a very special ability to read the table. He was present without being intrusive, professional without being formal, and incredibly attentive without ever making it feel like a “service performance.” Everything seemed natural. You simply felt well taken care of. And then of course there’s the aesthetic aspect, which also needs to be mentioned. He’s a handsome man, to say the least. So handsome in fact that you can almost be distracted from the food — and that’s saying a lot when you’re sitting at Lupo. 😄 But most importantly, his appearance was just the icing on the cake of an already excellent experience. He had a charisma and a confidence that perfectly matched the atmosphere he helped create. In short: if Lupo already has great food, then this waiter was the ingredient I didn’t know the restaurant was missing. The combination of his Italian language skills, immense knowledge of the food and its history, his natural hospitality and — let’s be honest — his impressive looks made the visit something truly special. You can serve great food, but it’s people like him that make you want to come back. World-class service. 🇮🇹❤️

Delicious tiramisu, and our waiter, Jonas Thornvig (192 cm tall and single), did it simply excellent.

Got a 3 course menu. Served by smiling staff, who unfortunately did not speak Danish. The food was really good, as was the wine. The chair I sat on was not intended for an old man with a bad back. Otherwise everything was fine.

I have very mixed feeling with this place. I tried it 5 times, during different times of the day, with different capacity (sometimes it was empty, sometimes full) but it does not matter in terms of the quality of service. Unfortunately I have to say that the stuff is not qualified enough. Every time I come there, I feel like I am a burden for them. Everything takes so much time, even when you arrive and you wait to be seated, waiters will be looking at you, passing by you and still not even saying hello, zero, nothing. And that’s the pity cause I really like the food here. Delicious pizza with spicy pepperoni/honey/burrata, great small appetisers, super nice vodka pasta. I think there is a lot to change, to make guests feel welcomed. Restaurants are nowadays about experience, not about food

Really good quality food. Good portions that really filled you up. The staff was nice and attentive, and came to the table several times to check on us. Highly recommended!
