Nice visitor center, the whole place is well thought out and creative and nicely structured. Minus for very few guided tours and for the most expensive water we have ever bought - 15 DDK for a glass was quite a bit, otherwise it was a nice cafe and the food was good.

I agree with a previous reviewer: the view is amazing, but the food is not worth writing about unless you really like a completely dry-fried fish fillet.

A trip is worthwhile because of the history and the view of the Baltic Sea

A trip to the Bur is recommended, after the walk the viewpoint is a great place to have a drink and a coffee as well as a short break with refreshments

A small exhibition about the castle with a shop and snack bar. Everything is clean and the staff is friendly.

The area offers impressive nature, where the eye constantly catches new details – whether it's the rushing coastline, the green rock formations or the ruin itself, which towers up and tells its very own story. The bridge building itself is modern and aesthetically beautifully built into the landscape, and inside the building you will find a cozy café with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a light lunch while soaking up the surroundings. The parking close to Hammershus costs a small amount, but if you are up for a short walk, there is the possibility to park for free around Lake Opalsøen. The trip from there to Hammershus is not long - but it is, on the other hand, full of nature experiences and is ideal for hiking nature lovers who want to enjoy the landscape at a slightly slower pace. All in all, an experience that combines culture, history, nature and tranquility - and which can be highly recommended.
