The service was amazing just a perfect restaurant for every first try

Have been coming at Amalie for many years, whenever visiting Denmark. Service is always friendly, welcoming and professional. The menu is international with italien base. The food is wellprepared, the portions have a good size and are reasonably priced. There is outdoor serving both on Lyngby main street and the cosy backyard.

A small glass of their good mulled wine and 3 apple slices. There was a really good atmosphere and a lot of people, so I had to wait a bit for the service, but on the other hand it was nice to relax between all the Christmas shopping. I have since enjoyed one of your salmon sandwiches, which I think is the best in town (and for the price). I come here often, and in the summer it is nice to be able to sit outside, either in the courtyard or outside the Café. The noise level can be high when football is shown on TV. Update 2026. Had a nice cold glass of white wine at the Café's sidewalk restaurant, as it was 25 degrees in the shade. Got free water and ice cubes. I saw that they had roasted pork with potatoes and parsley sauce for dinner. Too bad I didn't manage to go down there again today. Looking forward to trying it.

Cosy /hyggeligt. Good foods and drinks at fair price. You will be full /mæt. Interior from the 1990's café's. Kind of outdated but a good place to be when it is dark outside and raining weather 👍

Amalie’s pasta, a sure hit! Simply tastes so good! Ordered an Amalie’s burger and an Amalie’s pasta (of course). The steak was cooked well. Pink in the middle. And once potato boats, on the side. (We probably expected most of all that it was “fries”… and a very indifferent side dish, of 2 potatoes that were cut out… but tasted good) Always come back to Café Amalie! So delicious that place!!!

After the new co-owner, it has become a lot better, I personally think, with very delicious food and good service! Huge recommendation from here

It's a really cozy place, even if you're from Jutland :) good food and good service

We feared there would be "bodega conditions" with smoke and half-drunk noisy people in there. On the sign outside it was said cake of the day with coffee/tea for 49 kr. Pleasantly surprised, delicious piece of forest berry cake with good coffee with heated milk and optional tea (free choice between 9 different types of tea). Helpful people and good service. However, as feared, quite high noise level so difficult to carry on a conversation. Otherwise a positive experience. This summer we will try to sit in their courtyard.
