Cafe La Buffalo Vordingborg

Buffalo is an institution in Vordingborg, usually a good atmosphere, reasonable prices and good food - in the middle of the square. What's not to like.

Quite a nice place, but not that many customers as it was a normal Monday.

Update 27-02-2025: Has the place got new owners? I ordered their Moules Frites once again because it was super delicious the last time I had it. But I was honestly a little disappointed. Many of the clams were empty, and the ones that had stuffing in them had been treated a bit harshly with many broken shells in the sauce and inside the clams. The fries last time were big and delicious, while this time they were small and dry, and really tasted like fries. For the dish, it is stated on the menu that there is chili mayo, but I got ketchup, which was clearly neither Heinz nor Beauvais, and tasted sour. However, I had no problem switching to a mayo from the waitress. My husband got a ribeye, which he ordered fries with. When the food came it was with potatoes. However, he got a side plate of fries, at no extra charge. The knife could hardly cut through the steak, and there were several lumps of tough fat and gristle. There should be some fat on a ribeye, but almost 1/4 of the steak was inedible. We actually doubt whether we want to eat there again. Super cozy and super delicious 😊 we ate 3 adults one afternoon for under DKK 500. The food was delicious and well prepared and the service was polite and attentive. We would love to come again 😊

An unusually good, delicate and filling brunch.

The quality of the food has become very poor over the last year. Ordered a star shot where the fish fillets had been WAY too much so couldn't bite through it. The bread under the fillets was a thin slice of toast that was unappetizing. Ordered 2 glasses of wine for DKK 79, where so little was poured that it was comical. On the other hand, my husband's beef tenderloin was really good and tasty, and the extra fries we ordered were super good.

Well located with a view of Vordingborg Square, the clock forgot us, but we reached our concert and the clock apologized with four draft beers, that's what can happen when it's busy

Large, versatile menu, but they fail to be able to cook it all. If you don't have much time, the place is a good choice, as they are quite fast in the kitchen. On the other hand, you sometimes have to stick to the plate a little. But you can eat a quick pizza or 3 courses and spend the whole evening. Can be recommended.
