Café Stranden Varde

The cafe is the last building before the sandy beach lies beneath your feet. A bustling place on sunny days when the wind is calm and waiting, Cafe Stranden is filled with long queues in front of the ice cream kiosk and the toilets. A cold refreshing drink or a cup of coffee tastes delicious, even with a few small white grains of sand between your teeth. There is plenty of seating since most people use the cafe as a stopover between the beach and the many small shops along the street that stop outside. Otherwise, the place serves hot food as well as cold. After many hours on the miles of beach at Henne, this is a welcome and pleasant stop on the way to shopping or parking.

We've been coming to this restaurant for many years and always enjoy it. The quality of the food is excellent, especially the caviar course and the lobster tail with sun-dried tomatoes and raspberries! For main courses, we love the fish and chips or the beef burger. The atmosphere is relaxed, the beach is within easy reach, and the selection of champagne and wine is fantastic! Who would have expected to find a Ruinart Brut Rosé champagne or a red wine from Gaja, Ca'Marcanda in Tuscany here? Both are highly recommended. We'll definitely be back and find the prices to be very reasonable.

I can neither share nor understand, let alone comprehend, all the negative comments here. We've been coming to Henne Strand every summer for many years and are regulars at Café Stranden. The food is first-class, from caviar and lobster to moules frites and fish and chips. The wine and champagne selection is also impressive for such a small establishment. For Denmark, the prices are absolutely fair. By the way, for those of you who are thrifty Germans, you won't find coffee and cake for €5 here in Denmark.

We've been coming to this restaurant for years! The wines and champagne are simply fantastic and quite unexpected. The food is delicious and the prices are fair. Yes, fair, just to emphasize that again for my fellow Germans and perpetual complainers! If it's too expensive for you, I recommend the Harz Mountains; you're sure to find something more affordable there. We give it 5 stars – top-notch!

We went there for dinner and also often during the day for coffee and a small snack. We were always satisfied. The fries were sometimes overcooked.

Beautiful view of the beach and sea. Very good hamburger with delicious fries. It was windy and cold, but blankets were provided for guests.

My husband and I just celebrated our silver wedding anniversary at the café. It was the best experience. Fantastic food and the service was unbeatable - and it all takes place in the most beautiful surroundings. We would highly recommend Café Stranden.
