Cafe Valentin Hillerød

Was at Frederiksborg Slots Museum in December followed by a lovely lunch/early dinner with Valentine's (Christmas) Lunch Plate. Delicious and plentiful food, good fried fish fillet, shrimp, delicious chicken salad etc. With rye bread and 2 small warm buns. Water and soda included. Cozy place. Was a bit chilly even though we sat inside. Definitely recommended 🥰

Tried the Danish traditional open sandwiches while visiting Cafe Valentin and they were delicious.... I would definitely recommend a visit.

We ordered an omelette, and it was ok, but there were two rather boring buns, so we asked for some rye bread instead. The waiter also brought two slices of warmed rye bread, and we thought that was nice service. We were also allowed to pay for that service 🤨 58 kroner for 2 slices of rye bread, yum yum. So they are paid for. The two stars for service are NOT a criticism of the waiter, but of the restaurant's handling.

Should have listened to the server when I placed the order for the smorrebrod. They were bigger than I had expected but they were so tasty.

A cozy place with lots of Parisian charm and an extensive menu. There is nice, soft music playing in the background and the service was very accommodating. I ordered a plank steak with pepper sauce, the steak was unfortunately a little overdone, but was still delicious and tender, and the pepper sauce lived up to its name with lots of pepper and heat.

We stopped in before visiting the nearby castle. We were impressed with the speed of the service and enjoyed the lunch offerings. I opted for the salmon and avocado salad while my husband went for the chicken salad smørrebrød. Both were tasty and we were able to enjoy a nice but quick lunch so we could spend our time in the castle. I highly recommend this option if you are visiting the castle.
