I had the pleasure of meeting with the pastry chef to design a cake for my husband’s birthday, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! From the start, she listened carefully to my ideas and needs — including the number of guests and the fact that I would be traveling to Skåne. She thoughtfully suggested freezing the cake to ensure it would be perfect and fresh the next day, which was such a smart and helpful tip. The flavors were outstanding: a light vanilla sponge paired with a luscious raspberry mousse filling and a refreshing lemon topping. I gave her creative freedom with the design, and she truly delivered — the cake was cute, elegant, and had a beautiful summer berry twist that perfectly matched the occasion. Not only was the cake delicious, but the entire family absolutely loved it! If you’re looking for a custom-made cake that tastes as amazing as it looks, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

A lot of their „pistachio” pastry is pistachio-flavoured and green coloured marzipan, which is misleading and feels a bit didrespectful towards the customer- especially for 46 crowns… They sometimes have pistachio brownie, which is with actual pistachio cream and it’s amazing, as long as it’s fresh. I tried it twice and one time it was dried out and hard, which tells me it was old. It seems like it’s a lottery whether your pastry will be fresh or not, which is a bit unfortunate for the price range they have for the „fancy” cakes. The simple pastries next to the register never disappointed me so far. So if you’re in the area and are looking for a simple sweet treat it’s a nice place. But there is a lot of space for improvement, when it comes to the more expensive cakes. For me it’s a no for now, because of the misleading naming of „pistachio” pastries

Ever since my husband brought home an almond croissant, and had told me several times about the wonderful cakes and delicious sandwiches he and the team ate during breaks when they were laying asphalt in the area, Cakes & friends has been the bakery we visit when we drive to Copenhagen. Their pizzas are tasty and with the most delicious mozzarella. Their tea buns are wonderfully large, airy but at the same time firm and soft in the crumb. They are as filling and satisfying as 4 tea buns from our local bakery. The only disappointment is the size and the feeling of not being able to finish them. The area is super cozy in the summer, where the children can play outside. The only downside is parking at Max 30 min without a parking app.
