This is the Heineken Kidnapping Tour!” I tried to explain to her that we were in Denmark, not Amsterdam. But she had her headphones on and was listening to Peter R. de Vries's audiobook. The bus started, lights flickered, someone put on Daddy Cool—and suddenly everything made sense. “Willem Holleeder made of wood,” she mumbled, “but with better music.” She tapped her Heineken glass rhythmically, her Johnny’s Vintage and Leathers jacket gleaming in the purple neon light.
