The hotel has it all, but most important the view. It does not get any better, with a perfect view over Århus and the sea. Bar area and restaurant are vre cosy and the hotel is easy to get around in. Location vice it is a bit out from center, but in walking distance of everything you might want to see on the city.

A top hotel, where everything is top notch. Lovely rooms, nice and smiling staff, had breakfast. Not the first time I was there and definitely not the last.

The hotel is relatively well located, just a few minutes' walk from the city center. The breakfast is good and quite varied. The room is small and the carpet smelled musty, which was very bothersome for me! I asked if there were any rooms with wooden floors, and was told that the only room with wooden floors was occupied.

Incredibly hot in the room...24g is too hot to sleep in, unfortunately could not get the aircon to work, reception could not help. Nicely decorated

The hotel itself, once you get there, is quite nice, with clean rooms and a very good breakfast buffet. Getting there and then parking was difficult, to say the least. There's a parking garage, but it only has room for maybe 10 cars for over 100 rooms. There are only construction sites nearby, meaning there are no parking spaces, at least not legal ones. Even if you're lucky enough to find one, it's a long walk ahead of you, which isn't much fun with luggage and maybe in the rain. And the entrance is only accessible via a rather long and steep staircase, so I was ultimately out of breath by the time I finally reached reception.

11/12/2025: We ordered the 10 course tasting but i would reccomend taking the 13 course instead. The courses are very tasty but they are very very small so 1 bite per course is definetely not enough to get you full but great if youre on a diet 😂 They seemed to had forgotten our dessert or just overlooked us since we had to wait quite a long time for the dessert to be served. We had 2 different waiters which made the experience a little mixed i would have preffered just 1.

15/03/2026: First visit to Aarhus and we are only happy to have chosen Hotel Royal. Definitely where we will come back for our next visit! It is located close to the promenade/pedestrian street, places to eat for dinner or a late night snack. It is generally centrally located. The staff was service-minded and helpful from start to finish. Everything from tips to good places to eat, experiences etc. The hotel is modern and stylishly decorated with memories from the historical era. It is really clean and wonderfully spacious. You can see they have modernized it to today's design but still kept the important values ​​from the hotel's origins.
04/03/2026: I was at the Hotel Royal on Feb 23 and left a small personal item behind. I notified the hotel that morning, and they arranged for a lost and found service to ship it back to me. I received my item on March 2nd, all the way in the United States. I cannot say enough positive things about the Hotel Royal and their high level of service. I am very appreciative to all the staff for their help. I'd recommend them to anyone just based off this experience, however their location and room quality are two other big selling points. I also very much appreciated how easy it was to connect to wifi and stream and cast content to my TV. Thanks again!
