Good day, dear Curfew,
Since we’ve begun this conversation, let’s speak openly.
You responded to my friends’ review, not mine, yet somehow decided to direct your criticism solely at me, which is absurd. When there’s nothing valid to say, it seems the easiest thing is to simply let something out of your mouth.
Regarding the 1000 krone note issue: According to Danish law Betalingslovens §81, Kapitel 12, §81, if there is no prior notice, you are obliged to accept 1000 krone notes in cash. Every restaurant still follows this rule, and until the end of the year, this remains valid. So, the issue was created solely by you and your incompetence, not by me.
As for the whisky bottle – I didn’t ask you to serve me homemade moonshine, but rather an expensive whisky. Your concept led me to believe that bourbon whisky would fit the theme perfectly. I know a lot about that era and have a deep interest in its history, which is one of the reasons I’ve been visiting your bar for over a year now. It was a major reason, in fact.
Moving on to the smoking issue: I fully agree. I must have been entirely confused by your concept, especially when, in a half-empty bar, we waited for two Margaritas after finishing our drinks and waited patiently for our friends’ cocktails. The wait was tiring, so yes, I allowed myself to smoke without disturbing anyone else. For that, I offer my only sincere apology – it was rude.
But let’s also talk about your bartender, the one you leave in charge on weeknights and weekends. The gentleman from Greece – unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name. He was great, especially since we loved the “Lost Generation” cocktail and, on that occasion, brought new guests to your bar. Everyone loved the drink, and when my friends asked for a replacement cocktail, it was because paying your prices for a non-alcoholic drink that tasted like Fanta with lemon was quite unreasonable. We even said we’d cover the cost of the original drink and order new ones, to which the bartender responded, “We spend the full price on this cocktail.” Still, we insisted, saying we’d pay for everything and just bring us two more Margaritas. After waiting, and receiving nothing, your bartender said he “didn’t understand,” even though it was clearly communicated that we’d pay for everything. We even asked, “Can you make a Margarita?” and he replied, “Yes,” very clearly.
Your response to my friends was utterly absurd and nonsensical, accusing us of making “false claims.” I generally don’t leave reviews, but your reply to my friends directly targeted me. You even brought up incidents with Kevin, which were private between us, and yet you chose to publicize them in your response to my friends. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and awareness. For someone claiming to represent an “elite establishment,” you’re acting more childish and offended than is reasonable.
Your concept of “We are always right, and if you don’t like it, leave” is just as outdated as “The customer is always right.”
And yes, we have spent every birthday and the entire year at your bar, regularly dropping at least 1000 kroner and up to 2-3 thousand on cocktails alone.
But after your private outburst directed specifically at me, let me respond privately to you: you cannot ban me from coming back. It’s I who will choose not to return, not because “the door is closed to us.” There’s a fantastic bar at Nimb, where we’ll be spending our evenings from now on. I genuinely wish you success, give my thanks to bartender Kevin for his excellent service, and nothing personal to the Greek bartender – he did his best. As for you, the owner (sorry, didn’t catch your name), good luck with your policy and your business! 😁
I sincerely hope you’ll have many guests, and one day you’ll realize that losing regulars over a single non-alcoholic cocktail was a mistake.
Best regards ,
Iraklii Sharashydze
