When we came to Det Gamle Røgeri, it was with the expectation of an experience like the last time a few years ago. It wasn't. The place looked the same as before, but Stjerneskuddet didn't. Where last time it looked like a well-composed unit, this time it was a few units that happened to be sharing the same piece of bread, which was an undercrust the knife could barely break through without the rest of the food being scattered around the plate. A messy experience, unfortunately.

A great restaurant in the heart of Thisted. A wide selection of fish dishes (the fish comes directly from Hanstholm). The seating is very comfortable, and there's also an outdoor area. The service was very friendly and also knew how to accommodate allergy sufferers. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the portions. You can also take your food to go and purchase various fish dishes at the counter. Highly recommended.

Vi fik alle Stjerneskud til frokost, nogle med krebsehaler som tilbehør. Fiskene var tilberedt ordentligt, og tilbehøret var smagfuldt. Brødet var dog noget sejt, så det kan gøres bedre.

Sød og kompetent betjening. Super lækkert mad, som vi spiste i restauranten. Flot anretning af frokosttallerkenen. Virkelig et besøg værd.

27/12/2025: Excellent service and excellent food. Everything was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the house burger and the chicken burger. Because of our dog, we sat outside. In December, we were sheltered on the terrace and enjoyed fantastic sunshine with a view of the small harbor. Highly recommended :-)
10/12/2025: I got a house burger with an extra steak. Even though the steaks were well-done, they were good and juicy. The dressing, which was homemade, tasted great on the burger. Good thick and crispy cucumber slices and fresh salad. The fries could have been fried a little more, at least for my taste, but they were big and beautiful, and the homemade dill dressing that comes with them tasted absolutely fantastic. A good portion. I definitely didn't leave hungry. It's a fish shop and bistro in one, with a view of the harbor. Nice clean surroundings. Nothing flashy, but it works and is proper, and the service was really good. All in all, a super nice experience.

25/10/2025: Was here for lunch with the family. Very welcoming staff who are at eye level with the guests and are able to be relaxed. The food is, for lack of a better description, fantastic. Both the Bunkerburger in the regular version and the mini were perfect. In addition, we got board dishes that fully lived up to expectations and more than reasonable for the price. All in all, a superb experience.
