3/5 — An Authentic But Cramped Timepass Spot Det Vide Hus, just opposite Rosenborg Palace and Gardens, is a small, cramped coffee and snack bar run by a family. The place has character — a tight vertical spiral staircase, very limited seating inside where kids and students sit chatting with laptops — but it feels quite congested. They do have some unique Danish breads, pastries and baked goods, giving you a taste of authentic Danish bakery culture. We tried hot chocolate, coffee, avocado on Danish rye bread, and apple slices on a croissant — decent, but nothing that stood out for my taste. But a bit pricey for the set up !!! The outside seating wasn't very attractive, the chairs didn't look cleaned or replaced in a while. Overall, it's an okay experience if you want a quick, authentic Danish snack near the palace, but more of a timepass place for me. 3/5

We found this place because of the good reviews, and the food was indeed very good. We had a French omelette and avocado toast for breakfast, and both were delicious. The coffee was also very nice — smooth and not too acidic. However, there was one big downside: the very strong smell coming from the kitchen. We chose to sit on the second floor, but the smell of fried cheese and eggs was so strong that it completely stayed in our hair and clothes. We even opened the windows to get some fresh air, but it didn’t really help. After breakfast, we went for a walk in the Botanical Garden, but even after the walk, our clothes and hair still smelled like fried food. Luckily, I had some perfume with me, which helped a little. It is really not pleasant to come for breakfast freshly showered and wearing clean clothes, and then leave smelling like you have spent the morning cooking in the kitchen. Overall, the food is very tasty and the coffee is good, but the place definitely needs a much better and more powerful ventilation system. Fixing this would make the experience so much better.

Cozy coffee house serving nice pastries, breakfast, coffee and ice cream. Good prices and nice staff. Place is a bit small though and the pastries could have been more fresh.

Cozy atmosphere, pleasant music, delicious food prepared right before our eyes. Everything is very relaxing and exudes well-being. Thank you for this lovely moment. The juice is superb! Truly beautiful coffee. ❤️
