Duus Vinkælder Aalborg

Visited the place for lunch on Valentines Day. Really cozy decor and atmosphere. The waiter was super welcoming and friendly, but didn't know much about either food or wine. We ordered starfish and unfortunately it was poor quality fish and prawns. It was clear that nothing was fresh. Would not come again.

Charming 400 year old gl building. The food is traditional and delicious. Large selection of beer and wine. Central location. Really good service.

Atmosphere and service are what you come for. The food is no better than what you can get in many other places.

We visited Duus on a Tuesday evening in November for Christmas lunch from the buffet (8 people). The first positives were: the herring, fish fillet, liver pâté and meatballs. Less good was the Mediterranean sausage, which was dry-fried, no rice salamander left and the cheese which was taken out before our table could taste it (at 20.10). The buffet is from 18-20.30. A bit of a mixed experience 🤔

The atmosphere at Duus cannot be beaten anywhere else in Aalborg. Even when you get a table in a department that has not been fully renovated. Shut up, it's nice! But our Wienerschnitzels were unfortunately somewhat dry and boring. They forgot to give us our butter sauce as the driver came after five or seven minutes. The service was... ok... However, they came by and checked on us so many times that you felt like you were in the way a lot and that it was better to just eat and then move on 😕 not nice! And well... Their special Duus patej for 50+ kroner... Come on.. it's just a liver patej Toast 😵‍💫 shut up I felt cheated. Oh yes and the toilets were absurdly low...come on guys, step it up!

Was surprised by their Sunday buffet (lunch). Super delicious food 😊
