I have just had another wonderful stay at Fakkelgaarden in Southern Jutland, and it was worth the entire 3.5 hour drive from Northern Zealand. This is not the first time I have visited the place, and again I was pleasantly surprised. Already at the reception you can feel that you are in good hands. The staff are attentive, present and make you feel special. We stayed in a stylish and romantic room with a view of the fjord, a calm and beautiful setting for the stay. In the evening we had chosen a menu with a wine menu, and it was an experience out of the ordinary. The food was gourmet in the best sense of the word, tasty, well-composed and prepared with great precision. The accompanying wine menu was carefully selected and matched the dishes perfectly. Big praise to the sommelier for that. The waiters were present all evening without being intrusive. We were the last guests to leave the restaurant with a Baileys in hand and big smiles on their faces. Thanks to the whole team and especially to chef Steffen for a first-class dining experience. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Once again, a perfect evening for six people. The kitchen was exceptional, and the service, as always, was impeccable. Our friends were also thrilled.

We were so lucky as to stay in one of Fakkelgaardens luxurious spa suites, which made the perfect setting for our stay. We started with a delicious lunch. Rye bread with a panco breader piece of fish, topped with handpeeled shrimp and a devine lobster bisque. We set out for a walk in the beautiful setting on the Gendarm trail which took us around the area with a beautiful view to Flensburg Fjord. Our dinner left absolutely nothing to be desired. We opted for the Fakkel Experience. Starting with a exciting glass of champagne with a rose hint from the Pino Noir grape and wonderful snack. Then followed an exciting dish with hake and a clear tomato reduction. After this a serving of claims with cabbage parsley and turnip. Last fishcourse of the dinner was fried tail of monkfisk with sauce nage and carrot. One of the absolute highlights of the dinner. An extremely tender serving og veal tenderloin was then served with a extremely delicious sauce with crutons, onion soubise and a delicate spring onion. A wonderful glass of red wine followed this dish. Fragrant and perfectly fitting of the veal. The dessert didn't let us down. Youghurt ice cream with creme Anglais, Swedish blueberries and a salty caramel. Lastly followed a cup of coffee for me, with a devine Madeleine. One of the overall best meals I've ever had, served perfectly by very competent staff. I will absolutely recommend Fakkelgaarden and their Fakkel Experience to everyone I meet.

Nice place, huge nice rooms. The restaurant feels warm, small and oversocial (no cubicles for tables). The food was good, but unfortunately overpriced. We have previously eaten at least as good food for about half the price. One waiter brought a drink that was completely different from what I ordered. We came from Norway to Fakkelgaarden just to meet our favorite in the restaurant Peter Marc. Unfortunately he had the day off from work. We have been fans of him since his time at another hotel nearby. The staff spoke to us in English, despite us speaking Norwegian to them 🤔 They probably thought we were German 🙃 Overall a good experience, but disappointed with the price of the food.

Vi var på Fakkelgården for et weekendophold med 2 overnatninger og vi blev forkælet fra første øjeblik. Udover de skønne omgivelser og meget lækre værelser og hotellets øvrige skønne lokaliteter oplevede vi en tjenerstab, som fortjener al mulig ros for deres utrolig skønne måde at være på. Alle tjenere var nærværende, søde, omsorgsfulde og de ønskede åbenlyst, at vi give os den bedste oplevelse. Det gjaldt lige fra de nyansatte ikke-uddannede tjenere til de tjener-uddannede folk, som på hver deres måde gjorde opholdet til noget særligt. En kæmpe tak til dem alle. Ligeledes skal vi fremhæve maden, som er virkelig spændende og lækker. Vi nød hver en bid. Vi kommer bestemt gerne tilbage igen og håber meget, at vores ros til tjenerstaben vil blive overbragt til dem.
