Fisk & Skaldyr Aalborg

There were three of us. Prawn cocktail for starters. It was decent, but the prawns tasted too much of brine. For the main course we all had halibut garnished with some prawns and a crayfish and mussels. Little taste, but otherwise okay.

A little tired place. Seems shabby and messy. Really friendly service, but changing waiters who don't know what each other is doing. The food was pretty bland without much flavor. We drank soda. We paid DKK 54 for Coca Cola and Pepsi Max, poured from 2-liter bottles and without any fizz. My starter was steamed scallop and tiger prawns. It came on a very full plate and looked mostly like soup. The scallops were rubbery and the "soup" was burnt all around the edge of the plate. My main course was oven-baked salmon with saffron sauce. The salmon was dry and I had to remove the soft skin under the piece of salmon myself. The sauce was thin and bland without much flavor. My husband's main course was fillet steak with pepper sauce. The steak was almost cooked through (which in our opinion is a shame) and the sauce tasted mostly of cream. Potatoes and vegetables were perfectly cooked and steamed. My husband had honey glazed pancakes with ice cream for dessert. The pancakes didn't taste like honey and were dry and boring. The ice cream tasted good. Would we visit the place again? Probably not…

Probably, but considering the prices in Aalborg, it's very reasonable. I entered the store late at night, close to closing time, but they were extremely kind. Thank you for your time.

Excellent food, lovely service, cozy atmosphere❤️ We found this place through google reviews and booked jn advance on the website as we really wanted to try the seafood in Aalborg and it did not disappoint. The portions were amazing for the price and tasted good too. Attached are some pictures of the starters we got, main was so good we forgot to take pictures before we ate haha. The people were super lovely and friendly to us. As it was pouring down rain when we were leaving, they lent us an umbrella for the journey to the car. Would love to visit again if we ever travelled here again!

This was a fantastically good restaurant with a good host. Good flavors and the food was exactly as ordered. And the time between dishes was perfect. Can't get any better. Thank you for the food and experiences.😊
