I wouldn’t say the experience was very bad or very good. It was simply average. The coffee was nothing special, just regular coffee, and the service was average as well. The place itself is very nice, but unfortunately, it’s extremely noisy. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing spot to enjoy your coffee, this is definitely not the place for you.

Good service, the coffee could be better

Quite pricey for the limited service you get here. We had to wait fifteen minutes for our coffee even though it wasn't exactly busy. The cakes here are fantastic, but you do pay a good price for them.

Located right at the museum exit, the restaurant offers ample indoor and outdoor seating in a very comfortable environment. The three of us ordered chicken soup (plus a bread basket), mixed mushroom toast, strawberry tsao, and coffee. The chicken soup was quite unique; although the broth was rather light, it was perfectly balanced with the slightly salty mixed vegetables. A piece of fried chicken skin floated on the surface, and paired with cream and bread, the overall texture became very layered. The mixed mushroom toast looked unremarkable, but the dried mushrooms on it weren't hard at all, and had a pleasantly sweet mushroom flavor. Finally, we enjoyed the delicate strawberry tsao and coffee, and then went outside to bask in the warm Danish sunshine, perfectly concluding our museum visit.

A truly beautiful café with a fantastic, well-thought-out design and a very pleasant atmosphere. Especially in combination with the museum, it's definitely worth a visit. The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. A particular highlight was the freshly baked pastries – extremely delicious, fresh, and truly impressive in terms of quality! 🥐✨ Unfortunately, the matcha couldn't compete at all. We were disappointed with the taste, and compared to the rest of the offerings, it was rather underwhelming. Overall, it's still a very nice café, primarily because of the ambiance, the wonderful staff, and the excellent pastries. We would definitely come back for the coffee and pastries – but we'll skip the matcha next time.

A lovely café located inside the museum, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is relatively limited, and the prices are slightly above average, but the setting makes it worthwhile. I had the yogurt bowl with rhubarb compote, honey, and granola, which was mostly seed-based. It was fresh, light, and well balanced. The coffee was also very good, with a smooth flavor and no noticeable sourness. I would highly recommend this café for its atmosphere. It's an ideal place to relax before or after visiting the museum, and the outdoor seating is especially enjoyable on a nice day.

Delicious iced coffee and red porridge with vanilla popsicle.

A new year and a new start, a new Format Café, is it to be labeled as so, as the titular would suggest? Positioned within the historical walls of the Design Museum of Denmark, in its centenary year. Overlooking the courtyard the room is idyllic. It would seem the space has had a makeover. Warm lighting, framed prints, crockery and cutlery all fresh out or their bubble wrap. The museum a celebration of Danish culture and art. the menu is a reflection, that doesn’t stray too far away. What I consumed was all very delicious and presentable. However, there was a disorderly scrum around the counter. One had to negotiate the terms of how I was to receive my order. To sit and wait to be called, then retrieve your food. A perfunctory approach. The dishes carry a heft in monetary terms which shortens my quota for nourishment. At these prices one would expect meals to be brought to your table.
