Garbolund Natural Wine Gribskov

With a group of 4 friends we could last minute join a wine tasting at Garbolund. We were happily surprised by the nice atmosphere: Michelle was a great host, the venue is cosy and the stories regarding the wines were fun to hear (some cool background stories!). A must visit if you are into natural wines 🩵 Mange tak!

It was good to learn more about wine presentation and gain insight into natural wine, made from economically grown grapes.

Headline: Beautiful location and friendly staff – but lack of transparency and high prices We had been looking forward to a weekend at Garbolund Vingård and were greeted by friendly staff and a cozy wine tasting on Friday evening with tapas and a good atmosphere. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and there is a special charm about the place. Unfortunately, we were not prepared for how primitive the conditions were. Most of the activities took place outdoors – including eating and staying – and although we had good weather, it would have been a completely different experience in the rain or cold. The rooms were basic, and there was only one shared toilet for both Bed & Breakfast guests and wine tasting guests, which became a challenge as it was not cleaned afterwards. We also missed clear information about prices – there were no price tags at the wine bar, which was based on self-service. A glass of wine cost 90 kr., and bottles started at 220 kr., which came as a surprise. It would have been nice to have some goodwill or a discount for those of us who were staying on site. The dinner on Saturday was simple and tasted good, but we didn't think the price and content were consistent. The same was true of the breakfast, which was very minimalistic in relation to the price – and without visible signs of the organic products that the place otherwise emphasizes. The products were poured into small, anonymous glasses, and this made it difficult to know what you were getting. However, it must be said that the staff were friendly and did their best, even though they were busy. Our feedback is not about them, but about the framework and communication surrounding the stay. All in all, a beautiful and interesting experience, but with room for improvement – ​​especially in terms of transparency, comfort and expectations.
