Hansens Café Helsingør

Cozy atmosphere, but wait time and mixed food Visited Hansens Café in Hornbæk for a classic lunch. Here is my honest experience: The good: * The atmosphere: It is incredibly cozy with the open fireplace, which really creates an authentic and warm atmosphere - perfect for a cold day. * The staff: The service was really sweet, smiling and very friendly. You feel welcome from the start. The less good: * The wait: Unfortunately, it took quite a long time for the food to land on the table. You shouldn't be too hungry when you sit down. * The food: It was very traditional, which is fine, but the quality itself was a mixed pleasure. Some elements played, while others felt a bit mediocre. Conclusion: A nice place if you prioritize coziness and good service, but the kitchen lacks that last bit to reach the top. Come here for the fireplace and the good vibe, but bring your patience from home.

Ate fried pork with parsley sauce (persillesmovs) The fried pork was completely crunchy dry but the rest was delicious. Can't recommend.

This is a really lovely, cute cafe with incredibly kind staff. The atmosphere is very cozy, making it a great spot for some drinks. ​Unfortunately, we were a bit surprised by the food menu. We had seen pictures on Google Maps of what looked like traditional Danish dishes and local seafood, but the options available were different. For example, the fish was from a river instead of the sea right next door, and the prawns were from Argentina. It was a bit odd for a place located right by the coast, and we actually wondered for a moment if we were in the wrong cafe. ​While the food wasn't what we were expecting, the cozy setting and friendly service still made it a nice place to visit for a drink.

The coziest restaurant in the middle of beautiful Hornbæk. Nice waiters. The food was absolutely top notch. Plus ice cold draft beer. Lovely lunch. There were 5 of us.
