We had a wonderful evening at this charming little restaurant. Everything was perfect: delicious seafood platter and wine, impeccable service, and a great atmosphere. Remember to book in advance and ask for a table by the window 😉

Excelent menu, fresh seafood, friendly stuff. Nice atmophere of an old port restaurant. Full of marine decoration brought I suppose from ships. The best point of this restaurant is the freshrnesh of the products.As they had told us they bring them every morning.

We ate here on the evening of December 31st. Superlative menu, delicious food, and very friendly staff. We recommend it to everyone!

This is a seafood specialty restaurant and the reviews were good so I had high expectations, but the food was just average. Denmark is an expensive country so I guess that's to be expected, but it's disappointing that the quality is so low for the price. The service from the staff was OK. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice.

Very delicious sea food, we absolutely enjoyed it. We had two sea food plates, 3-piece and 4-piece, everything was super tasty (herring, shrimp salad, chicken salad, chicken fillet, salmon, …), a bit of everything to try, and every bite was great. Plus the Christmas cocktails. They also have a high chair for the young ones, are baby friendly, and the staff is really friendly and welcoming.

We had the mussels and two bowls of glogg. The mussels were the best I've ever eaten. The broth was so delicious you could eat it afterward, like soup. The glogg was also very good. Unlike mulled wine in Germany, it's not served piping hot here, but rather nice and warm. It comes with classic almond slivers and raisins. The waitress was also very attentive and genuinely friendly. From the restaurant, you have a direct view of the colorful houses, and even in colder weather, it's warm inside because they have heaters outside. Highly recommended, especially amidst the many tourist spots.

I was able to enjoy the fish dishes and beer that were just as good as the great location. Prices in Copenhagen are already high, so the high prices are unavoidable.

Havfruen Seafood Restaurant in Nyhavn is a lovely place to enjoy seafood while taking in the beautiful harbour views. The location itself already sets the mood, especially if you enjoy dining by the water with a relaxed and classic atmosphere. It feels very much like a place you would visit while exploring Copenhagen. We ordered the blue mussels and they were good, fresh and well prepared. That said, I have to admit that the Brussels version still holds the top spot for me. These were enjoyable, just not the kind that completely wow you. The lobster was okie, nicely cooked but did not stand out as much as I had hoped given the reputation and setting. The highlight of the meal for me was the langoustines. They were really good, sweet and delicate, and clearly fresh. This was the dish I enjoyed the most and would happily order again. It showed that the kitchen does know how to let quality seafood shine when done right. We also tried the ratatouille, which was not really for me. I think this comes down to personal preference as I have never been a big fan of ratatouille in general. It was well executed but just not something I gravitate towards. Overall, Havfruen offers a pleasant seafood experience in a beautiful location. Some dishes shine more than others, but it is still a nice spot to enjoy a relaxed meal by Nyhavn, especially if you appreciate fresh seafood and good ambience.
