Hotel Marienlyst Helsingør

Cool surroundings. Located right on the water, and you can see across to Sweden. Super delicious food and a lovely spa area

When we first came in the door and went towards the reception, we were negatively surprised. All the carpets were dirty. The fabric on the sofas and chairs was dirty with stains. The sofas seemed to be broken, as you "fell" far down into a "hole" in the sofa. On the positive side, the staff was nice and helpful. It was really nice and clean in the spa area and the room was also nice and clean.

We were in the spa section, which was really good and the sauna was also really good. Why am I only giving it 3 stars? Because there were probably twice as many people allowed in as there were intended to be. We had to queue to get to our locker in the changing room. There had to be 2 people per locker and there wasn't much space. In addition, there was only one toilet for all the many women. Afterwards we had afternoon tea with a beautiful view of the Øresund. There was plenty of tea, scones, sandwiches and cakes and it looked nice on the table.

Lovely stay with lovely bathrooms and rooms. One minus is that you have to pay for parking

We’ve stayed at this hotel twice now, and each time has been a truly lovely experience. We usually visit around Christmas, when the atmosphere is especially cosy and festive. The restaurants are excellent, and the spa and dinner packages are fantastic value. The heated pool is wonderful, and being able to enjoy drinks in the spa area is such a treat. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff are consistently friendly and welcoming. We really hope to return again this Christmas!

Marienlyst Strandhotel delivers an experience that combines the classic Danish seaside hotel atmosphere with modern comfort. The location is undoubtedly the hotel's greatest strength: the view over the Øresund is absolutely stunning, and it gives a calm, luxurious feeling from the moment you arrive. The spa area is well-appointed and inviting, and there is a good balance between relaxation, facilities and small details that make the stay special. However, there are a few things that could be improved. During busy periods, both the spa and common areas can feel a bit crowded, and this takes away from some of the exclusive atmosphere. The restaurants generally deliver good quality, but the price level is high, and the waiting time can vary depending on the time of day. All in all, Marienlyst is an obvious choice if you want a relaxing getaway with beautiful scenery, good service and a complete atmosphere. A place that is best when you choose a time outside the most popular weekends.

Lovely stay with fantastic food and good service. Only parking is a let down.

This is my 3rd time at Marienlyst and I love the place and the inviting facilities in the lounge/bar area. The spa department is also really nice, used both indoor and outdoor facilities, however, I would like to say that both the pool and the jacuzzi outside were not particularly warm, it was a bit tame. The floor outside is extremely slippery, as only rubber mats are placed on some of the floor. One guest slipped and fell on the slippery floor and several were about to take the same trip. The food was delicious - we got a pre-ordered 3-course menu, which we could choose from different dishes ourselves. Large delicious breakfast buffet. The room was nice with a terrace - however, the view was right down to the delivery of goods. The double bed was super nice, but the ex-bed was downright miserable. I have never slept so badly in my life, I might as well have slept on the floor. I was lying directly on the springs, so a mattress on top should be the minimum standard.! Honestly, I don't think you can charge money for an extra bed with that standard. So to everyone who books with an extra bed, be careful that it's not near a bed.! All in all, a nice stay if you ignore the extra bed 🙃

Great place! We were upgraded to the better room ( with the great view) because we were frequent guests there. We loved it! 😍
