Hugo's Kælder only has food in connection with events with ticket sales. Really good atmosphere in the cellar and in the courtyard. It is still the best beer bar south of Copenhagen. They offer 200 different beers and one wine. In continuation of the cellar, Hugo's no. 19 has now been expanded, offering 200 different wines and one beer as well as various Tapas menus. All of this can be enjoyed in the new premises, in the cellar or in the courtyard. In the summer season there is music in the courtyard on Saturdays 12-14 and in the winter season there is music in the cellar on Thursdays 20-22

Historic pub dating back to the 13th century. Magical place with knowledgeable staff about beer. Plenty of taps and types of beer. Calm and nice atmosphere with lots of joy.

Fantastic experience at Hugo’s Kælder! The cozy atmosphere in the historic premises, the impressive selection of beers and the friendly service make the place completely unique. There is always a good atmosphere, and you feel really welcome. An absolute must if you visit Køge – We will definitely be back!

Treat yourself to a delicious beer from various taps after you have tasted in small sample glasses. This way you won't buy something you don't like. There is a great atmosphere and on our day there was even music outside 👏 the cellar is super cozy and of course you want to stay for a refill. No rating on food as we didn't get any 😉

05/09/2026: Super delicious food! Not a single word about the quality. Unfortunately, the interior design is super boring. It's very provincial, which doesn't match the quality. Good atmosphere, but poor acoustics.
04/09/2026: We were a group of 10 people who visited Malt on September 3rd. We had booked a table well in advance, and had indicated our menu wishes in advance. Everything was ready when we arrived, and the distribution of our sandwiches worked flawlessly. The food was absolutely fantastic, everyone agreed, the service was very friendly and attentive. When we were about to leave, someone had mixed up my jacket with theirs, and since my car and front door keys were in it, it was a mess. But here a fantastic staff stepped in, called everyone who had been to the restaurant with us, and they got my jacket back. What a service, it goes far beyond what you can expect. We will definitely be back. Michael.
