Had an amazing experience at Jatak! All of the dishes were really well prepared, balanced, and extemely flavorful. I liked how they leveraged some preserved ingredients in their dishes and drinks from previous seasons, showing how conscious they are of their produce. A highlight was the Japanese cheesecake, which was very soft and fluffy. When coming here, would recommend reserving at the counter so you can have a more intimate experience. You also get a few more dishes (also at a higher pricepoint)

This is a tough one to review. The food was excellent. The service was great…until I paid my bill. I paid and finished up the last of my wine. I was thinking that the meal had been excellent and I wanted to come back on my next visit. I then was finishing up my water when I was told they needed the table back. It has been 2 hours 25 minutes since I sat down and in fairness they tell you at reservation only get the table for 2.5 hours. I was on the later half of the seating and the early half were still seated. I’ve eaten at other restaurants with 2 seatings and have never had to be reminded that they had another seating. I left but it left a bitter taste in my mouth. If they’d waited 5-10 minutes, I would have been gone. If you go, do a later seating so you don’t get the boot.

Food 10/10 I am astounded in the best possible way with how the menu did not incorporate any of those expensive ingredients yet still blew my mind away with the culinary skill, precision, and art. Each dish had unexpected yet deeply delicious combinations of textures and flavors, some even bringing out nostalgic memories of childhoo. A few highlights include the pike perch, oyster on top of steamed egg custard, and the final Japanese cheesecake. So simple and delicate, yet still so beautifully cohesive. Next time I’d love to dine at the counter. Atmosphere 10/10 A lovely and intimate restaurant opened by a Noma alumnus. The interior was very minimalist, had elements of Japanese aesthetic values, with warm lighting and an open kitchen. Very laid back vibes. Service 10/10 Thank you chef Jonathan for a great meal!! Great service by the team all around, everyone seemed to be hella tight and on good terms. It gave off a very well -trained yet happy culture.

This is so good! Reserve early as the slots are taken up pretty fast. Your tastebuds won't regret it.

Overall had a great experience at JATAK. Emailed them prior about menu adjustments (pregnant) and said they could accommodate. When we were seated, I had asked about the modifications and that’s when they asked me about the smoke duck (served medium rare) and told me they were able to switch out the smoked duck with monk fish and removed roe in one of the dishes. That was great option although I found it odd they didn’t adjust the menu ahead of time (since an email was sent way in advance)? Other than that, the food all tasted amazing. The duck was my husband’s favorite and the smoked oyster. The noodles were also delicious. The orange sorbet dessert and Japanese cheesecake were amazing! Highly recommend if you are in Copenhagen

Incredible experience! Whether it's the place (very cozy with a direct view of the open kitchen), the servers (all adorable and ready to answer your questions), and of course the dishes! A cuisine of perfect finesse and always very surprising, with portions always well executed. It's a real invitation to travel, with real taste discoveries from the first to the last dish. And to finish the wine, the selections are surprising but perfect! In short, go there, as a couple or with friends, you will have an incredible time. An intimate restaurant with a stylish modern interior. The food was elegant and tasty. Especially the brassicas dish was amazing. We also really liked the pommes-avec from Mergelsø with the dessert

This is a fantastic restaurant and the food is sensational - certainly some of the best we have had in Copenhagen, and we have eaten at some very nice restaurants! The place is small and intimate. We sat at the kitchen table, which was great fun. You really get to see the action, and also meet chef/owner Jonathan Tam. There is a set menu, with optional beverage pairing. Be ready for many small courses, each interesting and complex and served beautifully. Here is just an example of our meal. The first course was celtuce (which is a green vegetable that looks like asparagus but tastes like, well, celtuce), wrapped in nori and served with a sambal sauce. Lovely and fresh. Next up was perch served raw topped with thin slices of apple and turnip and topped with a mixture of lemon and other light sauces. Again, lovely and fresh. We then got a sort-of fried dumpling filled with a yummy cauliflower mixture and topped with raw local shrimp. This was delicious!!!! The monkfish that we were served next was perfectly cooked and served on a smear of a chickpea based sauce. The flavors again were perfect. Followed were two dishes based on squid - one finely sliced and served cold, and one hot - served crispy with an amazing filling that was savory and altogether scrumptious. This might have been my favorite dish. The main course was venison, served with an interesting side of carrots, both with very interesting accompanying sauces. Followed were three small desserts that were really yummy: a sorbet topped with pumpkin, a Japanese cheesecake, and finally a perfectly cooked shortbread filled with a lemon grass filling. These were the perfect end to a perfect meal. The Michelin star is well deserved. Service was impeccable, and the food superb. What more can you ask for! You absolutely need a reservation. The place is small. Note: At present, the street in front of the restaurant is torn up, so there is bike or foot access only. Our taxi didn't even try to get us very close. Make sure to leave enough time to walk there. It is located at Rantzausgade 39.

Great food, wonderful waiters! All in all, a really good experience

Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Lovely interior, fine acoustics, well-functioning division with dining bar vs living room. Nice menu, a few good but overpriced glasses of wine, just as the menu itself could also be a bit cheaper - but on the other hand there were many and nice waiters. Would love to come again.
