Team. Now. Up. It was just really, really good. Best yakatori I have ever tasted. In fact, all the servings hit the mark. Best sake I've ever tasted. Large wine list. Very, very good and passionate service.

Exceptional high quality local and international food and beverages demonstrates the owners choice of not compromising with perfection. We are looking forward to return and see what Kappo Ando have in store.

We went for the Yakitori menu, mixed skewers, on Sunday 10 March. Owners are extremely nice and friendly. They allowed for our little dog to join us for dinner. Fantastic wine selection, we also had a great sweet sake with our dessert 🌸 Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing, the food is truely sublime. Ando's passion for the food he creates and his extensive knowledge of Japanese quisene shines through every bit, each of which is perfect with every ingredient playing a meaningful role. The place is cool without trying, from the Japanese blade runner poster to fancy toilet.

Was there with a friend. We were both clearly pleased with the whole thing! The food was great and the trip melts in your mouth! Lovely cosy, quiet, calm and formal outside. That you sat and talked low and felt you had to sit with a straight back. The employees are incredibly service minded! And it's absolutely fantastic to be followed to the door. And helped with the jacket, the owner himself gets a nice chat! It's not the last time I visit kappo ando!

Best of Japan brought to Copenhagen. Delicious menu, and simply amazing sake!

We went there for pescetarian Sunday.

Tried in December 2023. Got the tasting menu and a few extra dishes. The owner was extremely nice and friendly and the food was generally good. The ingredients were clearly of good quality and you could feel the attention to detail and effort put into the food. The taste of the dishes ranged from okay to really good, but I wouldn't say that anything was particularly amazing. Watching the yakitori being cooked was nice, but oh so different from what I saw in Japan. Here, the grill was very small and only a few skewers were being cooked carefully at any time, whereas in Japan I was impressed with the grill master's ability to cook dozens of skewers in parallel. Overall, a pleasant experience, but not exactly a "must try*, in my opinion.

Genuine Japanese experience in Copenhagen. Great food and drinks, great service and beautiful Japanese details incl. decoration and even Toto toilets. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is owned by a Japanese-Danish couple and all about Japanese cuisine. You sit around a counter and can watch the chefs prepare sashimi cuts or yakitori (skewers) at a traditional charcoal grill. The design is modern and clean, the room fairly dark so that the food and it's preparation are in the center of attention. The menu comprises of various small dishes, including four different types of yakitori skewers. Everything is freshly prepared right in front of you. Two drink pairings are offered - one with wine and sake, and another with a highball, beer and sake. Food was excellent, and very close to what we've had in Japan before. Clean flavors, great quality. Not your Westernized California roll, but authentic Japanese flavors and techniques such as fermentation. Service was very personal and professional. When we asked the owner for his local favorites, he came back with a hand-written list that he walked is through - absolutely fantastic.
