Cozy little restaurant at the end of Valby Lang Street, the food is really good and well prepared, as the restaurant is well visited it can be crowded as there is not much space, but that is part of the charm. Definitely a visit.

🇮🇷 CLASSIC PERSIAN GRILL WITH SOLID CRAFTSMANSHIP🔥 On Valby Langgade is Khayam Restaurant – a well-established Persian restaurant with a focus on grill classics and solid portions that has existed since 1987. Here, the expression is traditional and uncomplicated, and the menu speaks directly to those looking for juicy meat and familiar flavors rather than modern interpretations. During our visit, we tried two main courses, both served with basmati rice and grilled tomato: • No. 22 – Kabab Soltani (Kubideh skewers of minced lamb and beef and Barg skewers of grilled veal tenderloin) • No. 24 – Chendje (Marinated beef fillet on skewers) The meat is undoubtedly the strength of the place. Both dishes deliver juicy, well-cooked meat, where the Barg skewer in Kabab Soltani in particular impresses with tenderness and pure flavor. The Kubideh skewer is spicy and balanced and stays juicy throughout. The Chendje skewer is tender and well-marinated, without losing the meat's own character. The basmati rice is fluffy and tasty and is served with butter melted on top, which gives it extra fat and richness. It's classic Persian style, but the amount of butter won't be to everyone's taste - for some it may feel a bit heavy. In total, we paid 398 DKK for three skewers, which places Khayam at the more expensive end for this type of cuisine. The taste and quality are good, but the price level sharpens expectations. What really keeps the experience from top marks is the overall impression: – Bread is not served on the side, which is unusual for Persian barbecue and is missed as part of the meal – The price doesn't quite match the portion size Khayam delivers tasty and well-prepared Persian barbecue with a focus on the meat and classic virtues. The taste is impeccable, but the high price and lack of bread as a natural accompaniment drag the experience down a bit. A solid, recommendable choice for meat lovers – but with room for improvement before it reaches the absolute top level as a unique place.
