The food was delicious and beautifully presented. However, it was expensive compared to other restaurants. The service was very friendly. More stylish and appropriate staff attire would be advisable, given the restaurant's standards.

Knud is a really good restaurant. We had well-cooked fish and an excellent wine. Despite being very busy, the service was good. I would come back here again. The only downside is the ritual request for a tip when paying by card. It's annoying, but doesn't overshadow the good dining experience.

Fast, happy and efficient service even though it was busy. The food came quickly and tasted really good. Got tartar and fries. The only minus was a little too much salt due to both fries, mayo and capers. Missed a little acid from maybe some raw cherry tomatoes or something.

I visited Knud on a Danish summer evening for the first time with my family, and every waiter you came across had the biggest smile and a welcome. You felt very welcome. I had never experienced the level of service before. The menu had everything you could want, at a reasonable price. The wine list was also wonderful🤩 All in all, it was the best start to a Danish summer, and we will definitely be back many times in the future!

22/07/2026: Very accessible, easy to find, lots of space, and just at the harbor of Hundested. A table outside can easily fit 6 people. You raise a little wooden flag at the table if you're ready to order, but I think it makes it difficult to spot especially if multiple flags are up on different tables and there's not a lot of service to go around. The plates are very generous. The stjerneskud I ordered was delicious, the breaded fish wasn't overcooked.
21/07/2026: One hour and five minutes of waiting for lunch - that's simply too long. We've visited the place several times, and the food is absolutely fine. The same is the beer, and the staff is smiling and friendly. But a Tuesday in the high season obviously exceeds the capabilities of logistics and planning. We waited 20 minutes before we got in touch with a waiter and ordered. Our beer then came quite quickly, but after that we waited so long that we finally had to get up and ask if we had been forgotten. We hadn't - but they couldn't keep up with the demand, was the answer. We would have liked to have known that when we arrived. We had expected a wait on a busy summer day in the middle of the high season. But over an hour of waiting for lunch is too much.

24/03/2025: Hade 31 gäster (familj+vänner) på besök för lite senare lunch och hyrde övervåningen för lite typiska danska lunchrätter (ex fiskefilet, frikadeller, roastbeef). Både mat och service gick riktigt bra, var i princip bara att luta sig tillbaka och fokusera på familj och vänner. Var där i slutet av mars innan de öppnade för säsongen. Highlights - Bra utsikt och lokal. - Mycket och överlag bra mat - Bra price-value - Fick bra förslag på maträtter som skulle passa - Bra service på dagen Har inget att klanka ner på. Viktigt att förstår vad Havfruen är och inte är. De som letar fine-dining a'la Michelin går fel. Letar man efter bra kvalitet på typiska danska rätter i en hamnmiljö då är det "spot on". Tips: Frukosten är bra. Om man bor på Harbour-Inn har de ett samarbete och de serverar frukosten på Havfruen. Vi hade 2 små barn med där de fixade till fina "frukostplattor" som passade till barnen (4 och 1½ år) med bla morott, gurka, skinka, bröd, nutella, frukt och bär. Vi vuxna fick, liknande "frukostplattor" med äggröra, bacon etc. Nygräddat bröd, croissanter och kaffe (vi tog bara svart kaffe, men de fixar latte etc som man ville ha det). Igen prisvärt alternativt, lyhört och, min upplevelse (har varit där några gr) är att råvarorna överlag är bra och friska. Tips2: de har barnstolar (vanliga Ikea stolarna), vilket underlättar.
