**“King Hans Cellar is the kind of place where the food does the talking — and what it says is nothing short of poetic. Every plate that landed on the table was executed with near-flawless precision. Think: scallops so tender they practically melt, sauces whispering layers of umami, and textures balanced like a symphony. The wine list? Encyclopedic. A sommelier’s playground — bold vintages, unexpected pairings, and deep cuts that show someone behind the scenes really knows their bottles.
Service was spot on — polished, present, but never hovering. They read the table like pros.
Now, the atmosphere. A little too quiet. Understated elegance or just... lacking soul? That’s up for debate. You don’t come here for a buzzing scene — you come for the craft.
Pricey? Definitely. But in Copenhagen’s fine-dining landscape, it holds its own. You’ll leave lighter in the wallet, but heavier with culinary memories. Perfect for a slow, indulgent evening where food and wine are the only things that matter.

Although we attended a private event, Kong Hans Kælder deserves all the praise that can be given. It was simply superb.
From the first snack to the last bite of the wreath cake, we were taken through a gastronomic journey of the highest class. Each serving was a study in finesse, balance and taste - and the wine menu was sublimely curated and coordinated with the food. There were even a few iconic bottles on the menu, which belong to the rarities when we talk menu context.
The atmosphere was high and the service was precise and professional, and it all bore the mark of a team that has mastered their craft to the full. I sat in the royal room (I think it's called) this evening, and if I have to make the slightest criticism, it's about the acoustics, as it could be a little difficult to hear each other from a long distance in the rustic rooms - but it was a vanishingly small detail, as the culinary was absolutely top class, and the overall impression was superb.
Thank you for a fantastic experience that we will remember for a long time. It was my first time at Kong Hans Kælder, but I will definitely be back again! :)

Fantastic food . Really worth a visit if staying near by. Staff were great telling you about the dishes. Would defo return
A very great experience two stars. This time the two stars were also worth the trip. They even had their own dessert cart. Every course was tastefully tailored to the season Alen, time in Copenhagen, everything was round courses, atmosphere and a great location. You could tell that people loved it

Five stars all around! This place is absolutely magical! The food was amazing but that's not what really stood out to me.
It's how everything just comes together in this place. When I entered the little door and went down the stairs, I was greeted as if I was a king, returning to his castle full of loyal staff.
Waiters are plentiful and incredibly polite. They spoke kind of like you would in the 1950s which fit the vibe of the place very well I think.
It's hard to explain but in Danish there is a certain way of addressing someone respectfully, which has been lost in the sands of time.
But not here! Waiters are very attentive and quick to pull out a chair for you.
It was like being in a movie. The chefs came out with some of the dishes to be served at the tables and since we were a larger group the waiters made sure to be enough people serve all of us at the same time, rather than serving one or two guests at the time.
The waiters were very good at explaining each dish, the food was fresh and the taste was out of this world.
Also... Glasses were NEVER empty.
Some people say the food is overpriced. And I get it. But you have to think of this experience as a whole. You're not just paying for the food. You're paying for premium service as well.
I'm not a fancy eater, and this is probably the best and finest food I will ever have in my entire life. I am very grateful for the opportunity to dine and drink here, and I hope to be able to do so once more.

Har ikke været på Kong Hans i mange år så tænkte om det stadig var det samme, det var det ikke det var meget bedre, glæder mig allerede til næste gang.
Fantastic experience. Friendly and professional staff. You could feel the waiter's passion for wine and all the staff were attentive and nice.
The food sat right in the cupboard and was both creative, aesthetic and tasty. The wines were well matched and also exciting.
An experience you should give yourself.
